The soap was poorly wrapped, stickers fell off and the wrapping was sloppy and uneven. But the soap was VERY good. The bars made great gifts and I got a lot of complements on how nice the soap was.

The rating I gave is based solely on the overpowering fragrance. That alone was the deal breaker so to be fair, I don't know how well it lathers or cleans.

I use this soap everyday and just love the smell and the fact that it seems to last longer than the other brands. I've been hooked on the great Sandlewood smell since the late 60's and am so glad I can still find it. I'd recommend this soap to baby boomers who for a moment would like to transport themselves back to the days of their youth and the carefree feelings of the past...

Other reviewers describe the scent as pleasant. That is, of course, a matter of opinion. I find the scent unpleasant - reminiscent of the smell of one of those big, low-priced drugstores most of whose sales are of things that you won't find in a bathroom (boxes of cereal, six-packs of beer, etc.)

More to the point, the scent in this soap isn't anything at all like any other sandalwood scent that I've encountered.

I remember my mom used to buy these soaps and put one in each closet drawer when I was very little. From what I could remember though, this soap isn't very moisturizing. It's great to keep your closets/drawers smelling nice though :)

I have never used this soap in bath, Im sure it would be great! But, I love it in my closet and drawers. Pure sandlewood scent is so hard to find, and this soap has been even harder, until I discovered from Drugstore.com!
