Have 2, both are faulty and have stopped working!Ordered the first one online, worked 42 days exactly. Asked for a replacement, received quickly but that unit stopped working in 18 days exactly. Both have the same non-functioning problem. The ionizer works well for a short while but then completely stops running even when setup, operated, and cleaned according to manufacturer directions. Made of really cheap materials and workmanship. Disgusted I spent $35! Most certainly garbage and I won't buy anything else made by Bell&Howell!

I got this air purifier because I have read that negative ions energize and lift mood. I do notice a difference when I turn it on.

I also liked the reasonable price and the fact that you can wash the filter instead of having to buy new ones.

Not suitable for any room - possible use would be a closet.

This product is a bit disappointing. Online, it looks like a well-made air cleaner that you could use on your desk -- sort of a minature version of the large ionizers that have been around a few years. But it's not ... it's a flimsy, cheaply made item that really doesn't look good or serve any purpose. It's more of a "toy version" than a "miniature version." In my opinion, it's absurd to imagine someone thought it should sell for [$]. At half price, it's overpriced. Bell & Howell used to be a trusted brand, but they really sold out on this one. The item belongs in a 99-cent type store.

This does NOT work. The one i bought from this store is a piece of plastic and metal and i wish i would of never bought it. Save your money and dont get this. It doesnt make the slightest difference in my room

First one I got was defective[...]. There was a bad connection where you plug the AC adapter into the unit. The purifier works great at removing unwanted odors. The only down side is, the clean air has an "ionized" smell to it. It is hard to explain the smell, but it does have an unusual smell. Not really offensive, but definitely an odd smell.

I bought this unit because it was getting rather expensive to replace filters all the time in my other air purifier. However, I have yet to see any residue, dust or anything, collected on the blades. My replaceable filter always caught all the smoke and dust. In my opinion it is totally inefectual and a waste of money.

It really does make my room smell better, even when people smoke, and I hardly notice a sound even on turbo setting. Easy on the wallet too, especially compared to other air cleaners on the market, and this one does it's job fine, I often can't smell anything! The only downside to this thing is that it sometimes gets knocked over, and the front piece with the grids sometimes falls out when it does. It seems to shut off on it's own when that happens though, I just noticed that mine doesn't quite "lock in" once it's in position, but it does stay in place if tilted. Also it's my fault it gets knocked over, I keep moving it. Overall great product for taking the smell out of a less than clean room.
