I'm a VERY health conscious 53 yr old woman who eats a low fat, high fiber diet religiously. Imagine my surprise when I was told I had high cholesterol for the first time in my life 4 months ago. I have several friends who take statins and experience side effects so I decided to try a different route first. I had used Benecol spread off and on but this time decided I would use it regularly and was also pleasantly surprised to find that Benecol now offered chews. I ordered a box and began to take 2 chews twice a day. I did this for 3 months and then had my cholesterol screened again. My total cholesterol dropped from 223 to 171 for a drop of 52 points and my LDL went down from 144 to 95 for a drop of 49 points. I am sold on this product! The chews are very convenient and I get a nice little after meal dessert to boot!

Product Works - Flavor Changed

Saddened when the company "changed the formula". Now the changed formula doesn't taste as good and is seems to be oilier than the original chew. I need something to wipe my fingers after opening them. Apparently they've added calcium to the mix and in my opinion, negatively impacted the taste.
The product does work in helping to keep my cholesterol numbers in a good range so I continue to use it, but I miss that little bit of sweet caramel taste I'd enjoy after a meal each day. It's still sweet but no longer a caramel taste. Instead of looking forward to it, it's now a 'have to' for my health.

I take 2 of these a day. In 9 months, my total cholesterol dropped about 20 points, and my triglycerides dropped 30 points! I really wasn't expecting such spectacular results!

Needed to bring down my LDL and did not want to go on statin drugs due to the side effects. I have been taking these chews for about a month. They are super easy to take, taste great and no stomach side effects. Can't comment on whether or not Benecol has lower LDL, since a few more months will pass before I can have another blood test. I am hoping for the best since most reviews show that it lowers your LDL.
