My Mom used this inhaler the last six years of her life. Though she got a rebound effect, she still had to use it every day. It worked for her, but if you need to use this inhaler longer than three days or so due to a stopped up nose from a cold or allergies, you too will get the rebound effect--your nose will be stopped up when you quit using it. For long-term solutions to your continually stopped up nose, you should see a specialist in the ear, nose and throat category.

This product works well and fast but only lasts for a couple of hours so if you use it at night to sleep it doesn't last the night. I felt there was a small amount of rebound with this product.

My nose gets stuffed up when I'm trying to go to sleep, or I'll wake with a stuffed nose -- a lifelong problem that Claritin, Xyzal, and other drugs haven't alleviated. Back in the 1970s I began using this type of inhaler, keeping one on the night table. It worked then -- quick relief -- and it works now. I'm so glad I can still find this brand at Drugstore.com; most major retail drugstores in NYC don't stock it anymore. Warning: Do NOT confuse this Benzedrex inhaler with the thinner (and I think cheaper) Vicks type, which doesn't work at all, at least for me.

I have used this product since I was 6 years old, whenever I have experienced a stuffy nose. I have never been able to take oral medications containing decongestants, due to side effects of rapid heart rate and general nervous type reactions. This product does NOT cause these side effects. Benzedrex Inhalers are EXCELLENT in instantly relieving nasal congestion and allowing drainage so you can blow your nose. This clearance of the nasal passages is especially helpful when trying to sleep with a stuffy nose. I always keep Benzedrex Inhalers in the house in the event of nasal congestion from colds or allergies. You will not regret buying this product!!
