I have low back issues. I've had 2 lumbar surgeries on 2 different disks. I find if my back gets at ALL cold, it "locks-up" and I can't do much. Heat pads are quite helpful, but most are too expensive. I stick one of these pads on the outside of my boxers from the waist band down... and I don't have any pain... even when it is quite cold outside. I find they last for 12-14 hours... sometimes longer. A wonderful product, and great value. Cheap enough for everyday use, if required. I ski 40-60 days a year, and I'll use these anytime I think the cold will upset my back.

Works great! Took about 20-25 minutes to heat up but lasted well over 12 hours. Definitely relieved the pain for several days! This product is super for travel and allows you greater mobility.
I've been using these patches for a few years, since I have a condition that is not going to get better without surgery. I use them on the lower lumbar triangle. I have two herniated disc', which can give me a "fit" at times. If you use these patches, be sure and read the instructions, carefully. They can get very hot for a long time. Fortunately, heat is about the only thing that gives me relief from my pain.
This product works well for my sciatica and is the one thing which has given pain relief. Heating pad is not as effective. I do wish it came in a larger size to cover more of the origin point of my sciatic nerve, but am grateful to have found this when nothing else was working. I place it on the outside of my underpants and the heat is soothing to my lower back and glut area. Takes abut 20 minutes after hitting air to warm up, but quickly soothes with "just right" heat. Another bonus I've found is that for me, it lasts over 12 hours, more like 16-18 hours. Recommended.
This product heats up nicely, and is great for bedtime use, as it is applied to your outer wear. However, you can't use it during the day unless you have an undershirt or are wearing a layer that doesn't show, because product is VIEWABLE. It is not expensive, and is quite soothing for stiffness.
I use these for menstral pain. I like them better that the Thermacare menstral heat packs for cramps. They stick to the front of your underwear just as well as the back. They are thinner than Thermacare, last about 10-12 hours or longer, and are substantially less expensive. I have had problems with the Thermacare menstral packs becoming too hot and burning me, but I have never had that problem with these.
I have used these for a few weeks and they deliver as promised; all have gotten very warm and stay that way for 12 hours, at least. You do have to take the edge of the package and shake several times before applying to assure contents are evenly distributed.
Open the package and expose the pad to the air. No kneading or shaking is necessary. The pad will heat up within 20 minutes after opening.
Remove the paper from the adhesive backing to adhere the pad to clothing. Do not adhere the pad directly to the skin. Remove the pad immediately if it becomes too warm and uncomfortable.
Once the pad has cooled or you are finished using it, gently peel it off clothing and discard of it properly.
