The world's first fully certified biodegradable and compostable pooper bag
The Ten Second Plastic Bag Lesson Regular polyethylene-based plastic bags can take well over 100 years to degrade and are not compostable. Less than 2% of all plastic bags ever get recycled. Plastic bags litter our streets, backwoods and waterways. Studies indicate that 100,000 marine animals and 2 million birds die each year from ingesting or being caught up in plastic debris. Some manufacturers are blending additives to polyethylene to produce "degradable" bags. Unfortunately, this process fragments the bags into pieces of plastic debris that do not meet the ASTM D6400-99 standard for biodegradable and compostable plastic. These pieces cause serious harm when mistaken by animals and birds for food. BioBag products use no polyethylene in the production process. We are fully certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute to be 100% biodegradable and 100% compostable. Please be sure the biodegradable products you buy are properly certified.
Nature knows the difference.
Using biodegradable bags to dispose of your pet's biodegradable waste makes good sense. To avoid misleading claims, always look for the BPI certification to be sure the bags you purchase are actually 100% biodegradable and compostable. Why use regular plastic bags that can last a lifetime!

My husband and I joke about how often we have to discuss dog poo ;) But we have to - we were using the plastic grocery bags, but felt conscious stricken about all the landfill waste. Then I ordered the two-tone bags from drugstore.com, and while they're certainly usable, they're a little unwieldy and hard to use for "the big dogs."
These bags are perfect. They're black, so you can't see the nastiness inside of them. They're small but hold a lot; strong, but soft enough to be 'manueverable.' You can easily put enough of these for a multi-dog walk into one pocket, and you won't have the lopsided look larger, stiffer bags give you. AND they are 100% earth-friendly!
From now on, it's only these bags for us.

The idea of biodegradable bags for poop containment is nice, but anything buried in an anaerobic landfill will take eons to break down, even if biodegradable. Yes these are better than regular plastic, but most people mistakenly assume they dissolve immediately after disposal.
If you consider the resource use and pollution created in manufacturing biobags, on balance it might be better to just re-use the plastic bags you got from the grocery store. If you're really conscientious and always use cloth bags when shopping, then biobags are the way to go for dog poop.
I used to use paper towels and plastic grocery bags. Don't need paper towels with these bags. Handy to keep in your pocket for those unexpected evacuations...
Family was using plastic bags from the grocery store to dispose of used cat litter. I hated using them knowing they'd never break down in my lifetime. I would just flush the "stuff" down the toilet but with an older septic it's not an option. So when I found these I was very excited! I am planning on using these with my outdoor in-ground pet waste disposal bin that has gone unused for cat litter waste (only dog waste).
First let me say that I do LOVE the concept of these bags and they seem fairly rip resistant. But I can not understand why the opening at the top of the bags is so small?! I can't even fit my litter scoop inside the bag. I have to take little scoops and dump it in to the bag off the side of the scoop which usually results in a mess on the floor if I don't do it inside the litter box. And the way they close isn't very secure but I can handle that.
I just wish the opening was wider to fit litter scoops. I mean if they are marketing the product is great for use with dogs AND litter boxes, they should accommodate the opening for scoops!
I can also see this being a problem for someone with larger hands and a large dog.
Place hand inside bag, grab waste and reverse bag for sanitary collection, insert film through hole at top of the bag and pull down to secure dog waste. Dispose of bag in approved waste disposal bin.
