These bags are several inches shorter than standard "tall kitchen bags", so if you have a tall trash can, the bags will tend to slide down inside the can (an extra-large rubber band can be used hold the bag in place, if you have one). The bags are of average strength; adequate for normal kitchen trash, but not super durable. There are no tie-flaps or drawstrings; this isn't a problem for me, but other people may not like the lack of closure. They are also very expensive compared to regular plastic bags. Overall I am fairly satisfied with BioBags and will continue to buy them, but I look forward to other companies producing biodegradable bags in the future, so that taller, cheaper bags might become available.

I love being green and when I saw these on special I decided to give them a try. My girlfriend and I use them in the kitchen so nothing heavy goes in them, usually just scraps, take out containers, etc. These break CONSTANTLY. They will break when you try to stretch them around the top of your garbage bin. They will split when you put any strain on them whatsoever. They are good for shredded paper and that is about it. We have to double bag them in order to make up for their lack of strength, which defeats the purpose of buying them in bulk.

Drugstore.com used to carry 13 gallon kitchen bags from Perf Go Green, which has been the BEST biodegradable bag I have ever used. It's strong, fits easily, can stretch at the top without breaking, AND has built in handles.

STAY AWAY from this and if anyone from Drugstore.com reads this please bring the Perf Go Green bags back.

Comments about BioBag Tall Kitchen Bio Bags, 13 gallon, 12 ea:

Can only put plastic with no hard edges, light paper no magazines, or small nonheavy stuff. They rip apart constantly. Lift out of can coffee grounds all over floor, along with half of the other stuff in the bag. I am looking for a different brand. These bags won't hold much of any thing.

Comments about BioBag Tall Kitchen Bio Bags, 13 gallon, 12 ea:

I purchased these after our municipality began a composting program and I was unhappy with the compost bag liners they supplied. I did some research and these came out on top, so I was very glad to see them offered on drugstore.com. They're strong and contain the waste well in the plastic bucket we use, and are a good value. I've recommended them to neighbors, and all have been VERY PLEASED.

Comments about BioBag Tall Kitchen Bio Bags, 13 gallon, 12 ea:

I have used Biobags for several years in our kitchen in an effort to minimize the use of plastic from our household. As other reviewers have noted, the bags can tear. However, we have learned how to handle the bags to minimize or eliminate tearing. First, never overfill the bag so it is too heavy. Second, we take our trash out in the can (ours has collapsible handles), tie the bag and then just lift it straight from the can to the outdoor garbage bin. Finally, taking better care for the environment will involve some sacrifices, so we understand that, while this will require some changes in behaviors, it is a really good move for consumers to shift to non-plastic, biodegradable options.

      Compost TOO quickly!

Comments about BioBag Tall Kitchen Bio Bags, 13 gallon, 12 ea:

Although the concept of compostable trash bags is good, these actually compost too quickly. If you have any amount of moisture in your trash, the bag starts to break down before you can take out the trash. I might as well not use a bag and just throw my trash straight into the can.

Comments about BioBag Tall Kitchen Bio Bags, 13 gallon, 12 ea:

I like these bags mainly because of their earth friendliness. Made from corn (and GMO free at that)I use them weekly in my trash baskets. They are pretty tough, though I did learn not to stuff them til the bulging point. The box says they have a 12 month shelf life, but I tend to buy them about every 3 months. The only real negative I have found is that if you put liquids into the bag, it will tend to break it down and weaken it.

I bought these because they were biodegradable, but they constantly ripped and were not practical. I'll keep looking for a green trash-bag product.

These are OK but Eco Safe is better, more substantial and doesn't tear or start to compost as fast. Still a good product but I like the Eco Safe better. However it is much better than a plastic bag.

These bags might work well for a trash can that isn't stuffed full. When I tried to pull my bag full of trash out of the can, I couldn't pull because the bag kept ripping apart. I had to carry my trash can out and dump it in the dumpster since there was no other way to get the bag out.

It seems a little contradictory to have a biodegradable bag that is imported. Not as green as it seems.
