Like the previous reviewer, I used Sleek Look by Matrix before, and I'm definitely going back. I don't like the jar design because water seems to get inside in my small shower I don't have a place to keep it that the water doesnt get to it so I've been storing it on the floor outside my shower for lack of a better place. Maybe it would be better on a different type of hair; I have sort of thick, shoulder length curly hair. Comments about Biolage by Matrix Ultra-Hydrating Balm, 16.9 fl oz: LOVE LOVE LOVE this conditioner! I have fine hair and am a coloring/bleaching junkie. I LOVE to play with my hair color. While it is a little heavy, nothing has helped me keep my hair as healthy, soft, and shiney. Because I have thin hair, I do need to rinse a little longer to keep from letting it weigh my hair down but I love it. I usually let it soak in my hair while I wash my body and shave. I rarely have snags and tugs when combing through my hair after my showers so obviously less breakage!! My hair is nice and shiney and smells great! Been using the conditioner for about a year now and don't think I'll find a better one out there!! Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? I have very fine, dry hair, and my hairdresser warned me that it may be too heavy, but it is not! I have tried lots of other high-end and drug store brands, but this one is by far the best. People are always complimenting me on how smooth, shiny and soft my hair is...that never happened before using this product! I permed my hair about 1 year ago and my hair had been very dry since then. I wished I had known this product long ago, it could have repaired my dry hair nicely. Anyhow, nothing is too late! I'm happy with my hair now thanks to Biolage. By the way, the smell is nice but can be overpowering if you apply too much. I just put a little each time.
