I switched from Bion Tears to Systane at the recommendation of a friend, and after about 10-14 days of nightly use, developed red, irritated, hyper-senstive eyes. I never had this problem with Bion Tears, which are also ingeniously packaged to minimize contamination by everyday pathogens. For sensitive, dry, menopausal eyes, this is my absolutely top OTC product. It's simply formulated, gentle, and effective for short or long-term use.

Good for moderate, not severe dry eye
Good product, not harsh or irritating. Great for use in mild or moderate dry-eye. but the relief doesn't last for hours in my (apparently) more severe case.

Many years after my husband's corneal transplants he has developed dry eyes. Bion Tears are the best we have found to alleviate the dryness. He uses them twice a day in both eyes.
Downside: Expensive
We would like to thank the families of the donors of his new corneas for their generosity and love of humankind.
My ophthalmologist recommended this product and my local pharmacies no longer carry it. I find this is the best product for my dry eyes with no reactions.

Can irritate the corners of the eyelids from the salaine with constant use. Use a slave in the corners of the eye to prevent this. This is the only over the counter moisture that actually promotes healing.
Of all the drops I've used over the years, these are by far the best. I have very dry eyes due to lasic surgery and these are the only ones I can use all day without irritating my eyes. And they are very refreshing.
