Comments about Biotene PBF Dry Mouth Fluoride Toothpaste, Mint, 4.3 oz:

This comment is directed to those in need of special care in gum tissue damage and/or special needs. A large community of post-radiation, post-chemo, and post-biologic treatment relied on the OLD Biotene formula for oral care needs. The original Biotene company sold out and the new owners changed the formula, eliminating those specific ingredients that were healing and soothing to damaged, compromised oral tissue. The ingredient change occurred sometime during 2012-13. Interestingly, simultaneous with the new ownership/formula change, television commercials promoting the Biotene products suddenly appeared. The present advertising is false. ALL of the beneficial ingredients contained in the prior formula have been removed from all of the current Biotene products. There are no ingredients in the present Biotene formulas that enhance saliva gland deficiency or oral tissue health in general. Many of us have communicated directly with the new company in attempts to encourage them to return the original formula - even putting a higher price on it if need be. Sadly, the new owner/management is simply not interested in addressing the oral issues the previous company was sensitive to. However, the good news for the general public who have not suffered damage to oral tissue/saliva gland function - is that the current Biotene formula is mild flavored and suitable to general oral care purposes. Those with special needs/tissue damage/saliva gland damage may look to a product developed by Designs for Health - PerioBiotics Toothpaste, a bit pricey, but the formula does contain the old, pre-2012 ingredients of Biotene.

Used three times a day due to dry mouth. Product is well
flavored but does not provide much dry mouth relief.

Comments about Biotene PBF Dry Mouth Fluoride Toothpaste, Mint, 4.3 oz:

I suffer from "dry" mouth. By using the Biotene tooth gel in combination with the Biotene Oral rainse, my mouth stays healthy and decay free. The positive results of these products by far out weight the cost of product.

I take medications that dry my mouth. This toothpaste is very efective. Saw results even from first use. Worth the price.
