Comments about Black Opal Oil Blocking Invisible Powder - Loose, Invisible, 1 oz:
About me: I am an African-American woman with dark brown skin. My skin is also quite oily. Besides eye color and lip color, the only two skin makeup products I use are Avon Magix Face Perfector and Black Opal Flawless Perfecting Concealor (in Toast). The Avon Magix is awesome: a thin moisturizer/primer that does wonders for soaking up excess oil. Even though the Magix makes a huge difference in battling oil on my face, I STILL was getting somewhat shiny after a couple hours and needed to blot with a tissue throughout the day. For about a year I just put up with it, accepting that I have very, very oily skin. It finally occured to me that I don't use powder on top of my concealor, and I set out to find one. Because I use Black Opal concealor, I decided to try a loose powder from that same brand to best complement it (and to support Black Opal for making such wonderful products for women of color!). All I can say is, WOW! This is a beautiful loose powder that really dials up my oil control several notches. It is "invisible," i.e. colorless, and looking at the color of this "colorless" powder did make me nervous at first (it's buff-colored, lighter than my skin by about, I don't know, 20 shades!!). However, when I applied a light layer with a big kabuki brush, it went on beautifully, vanishing into my skin within seconds, no weird lines or ashiness. I applied a second light layer, and same thing. No trace of any light powder on my face. I didn't really notice a big difference right away, but by the time I got to work, sat down and looked in the mirror, yeah, my face was already much more matte and glow-y than it usually was at that time in the morning, so I guess this takes a few minutes to "set". As the day progressed, my face SLOWLY became more oily, but very gradually and subtly compared to how quickly oil would've come rushing back without using the powder. When I blotted with a tissue (which I had to do beginning later in the day and with much less frequency than normal), the tissue came away with much less makeup than usual. Yeah, this product is good. Now I would say, at the rate that it is going, the powder would probably stop working altogether not long after your typical 9-5 day, and if you are going out afterwards, you would need to either re-apply or just let it go for the night (it's night after all, and to me drinking in a dim bar makes everyone look just fine!). So I would definitely highly recommend this! It is invisible to both sight and touch, it gives you a nice, matte glow and keeps you oil-free longer. I am a new lifelong fan!
