Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment

 – Give your lips some relief with soothing, healing and moisturizing Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment. The emollient base and active ingredients are clinically proven to increase the moisture levels of lip tissues, while helping to heal dry, chapped lips and protect cold sores and fever blisters as they heal. Formulated with allantoin (derived from the comfrey plant) and other soothing and healing ingredients, you can quickly reduce the soreness of lips cracked from the winter's winds or under the hot rays of the sun.

Those Delicate Lips

Unlike the skin over most of your body, the surface of your lips is not protected by an outer layer called the stratum corneum. Instead, the epidermis is exposed directly to the air. Lips also do not have oil or sweat glands and contain very little melanin, the natural pigment that helps protect skin tissues from the damaging rays of the sun. This is why lips can so easily become dry, rough and cracked, when exposed to the cold, dry air of winter or to the hot days outdoors. Dry lips can also be a side-effect of some medications. Even though many people moisturize their skin regularly, the lips are often neglected. Lips also need to be kept moist and protected. You can even use Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment to help keep areas affected by cold sores nourished and protected while they heal. The soothing formula helps to calm itching and discomfort to leave the lips comfortable.
