I have rosacea (constantly flushed cheeks) and a little seasonal eczema, which shows up as lightly peeling skin. I am horribly allergic to chemical sunscreens so I had been using 100% zinc oxide blends, which leave a white film. I bought this one to try on my arms. After no reaction, I tried it on my face - and I didn't get a rash! I was pleased with the texture, which is drier and less shiny than the Blue Lizard mineral sunscreen (white tube), and better for facial wear. I am fair enough that you do not see any white film after it absorbs, but I can see how others might. The ONLY problem is that it clogs the hair follicles on my cheeks and makes them break out lightly - which is a problem with ALL sunscreens that contain zinc oxide, in my experience. If I am careful to use a strong AHA cream at night (such as Amlactin, Lac-Lotion, Glytone) on my cheeks, I can stay ahead of the pore-blocking. But I am so happy to have found a facial sunscreen that doesn't cause big red itchy blotches that I will gladly put up with the side effects of zinc oxide. We rely on the regular stuff for our very fair-skinned family. Over Memorial Day weekend many children at our pool were showing some burn after a long day of festivities (with very diligent moms applying other sunscreens, mind you!). My kids did fine with an initial application and one reapplication. They were in and out of the pool, all over a playground, running and sweating and having a ball. No sunburn on us -- hooray! Comments about Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Daily Moisturizer Face, SPF 30+, 3 fl oz: Blue Lizard Face is a great sunscreen for every day use. It is not greasy. It goes on just like a regular moisturizer. I highly recommend it. Pros

Best Uses Comments about Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Daily Moisturizer Face, SPF 30+, 3 fl oz: The product says to use on your face, but I use it wherever I am sensitive when I'm going to be in the sun - shoulders, tops of my feet, face, etc. I burn very easily, and after burning myself for 53 years, this is the only sunscreen I've found that will keep me from getting a red nose when I'm out in the sun for any length of time. LOVE IT! Pros

Comments about Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Daily Moisturizer Face, SPF 30+, 3 fl oz: I'm not a beach-goer, and use a moisturizer with sun block on a daily basis, but for a summer honeymoon in Italy, I needed something a bit more heavy-duty (I'm pale on the best of days, and burn easily). It worked so well I now use it for sports - I can apply it liberally, sweat profusely, and it doesn't come off or sting my eyes. I've tried a lot of athlete-oriented sun blocks, and this beats them all, especially for winter sports (I ski cross-country). Pros

Comments about Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Daily Moisturizer Face, SPF 30+, 3 fl oz: I used to use this cream before. And I really like this cream. But unfortunately in this time I have a lot of problems with shipping. Drugstore.com charged my credit card more then month ago, but I still didn't received my order. I sent emails to the customer services but I can't understood what is the problem with delivery. Right now I have to find out by myself where is my order in a local facility. Drug store have provided the phone number and I have call them and pick up package. I ordered the sunscreen for my vacation that I already had and I still haven't received the cream. Pros

Comments about Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Daily Moisturizer Face, SPF 30+, 3 fl oz: A bit heavy - needs to be applied to dry, non sweaty skin. I will put my face in front of my fan for several seconds before applying. Requires a bit of patience to rub in thoroughly, but then lasts all day. Makes a great foundation when used with Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Powder Foundation on top (initially and for touchups throughout the day). Otherwise, product will cause face to be shiny. Really reduces redness like more expensive BB creams when used with a good powder on top. Pros

Comments about Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Daily Moisturizer Face, SPF 30+, 3 fl oz: I already had a bad sunburn, but had to be out on the water all day. I covered the burn as well as other areas and it was perfect. I did not get any additional burn anywhere. It does leave a light, white-ish film which looks no-so-good on tanned skin, but the protection was well worth it. It washes off easily. You'll look fine for the evening beach party! Pros

Comments about Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Daily Moisturizer Face, SPF 30+, 3 fl oz: I mainly use this on my body but occasionally use it on my face. The texture is creamy but blends in easily and leaves a semi-matte finish on my body but a slightly dewy, non-greasy finish on my face. I've had a difficult time finding an inexpensive, lightweight sunscreen with a zinc oxide base (Clear Zinc is too thick & sticky) so I'm glad I tried this. ![]() |
