As a fair-skinned person, sunscreen is a must for me. But with my sensitive skin, most of the brands I've tried make me break out. Blue Lizard for sensitive skin uses only zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, so I have no problem with breakouts or rashes! I use it everyday - even though it feels a bit heavy, it actually makes a great base for the new mineral powder foundations on my face. It has no offensive odor. My only complaint is the bottle: over time, the paint on the label starts to come off on my fingers! I transferred the product into my own lotion dispenser when this started happening. Also, the price is a bargain compared to other "natural" sunscreens.

I am always looking for sunscreens containing zinc oxide. This was priced right and had the ingredients I was looking for. ONly problem is, this stuff is very hard to apply! I wear sunscreen on my face daily, and my habit is to apply it first thing, after I wash my face in the AM. even if my skin is a bit damp, this stuff will just smear and leave a ghostly cast and will NOT absorb into my skin. So I actually tote it around and will apply it at lunch before i go outside for a walk (and when my skin is drier). This has no odor but I would say it is a bit greasy. I have since used it only for my body and not on my face. The bottle is kind of fun since it changes color when exposed to UV/regular sunlight. Other than that, there's nothing special to say about this.

Comments about Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Sensitive, SPF 30+, 5 fl oz:

I have used a range of mineral sunscreens for several years now. I try to use ones ranked highly for health (lack of ingredients that have been shown to disrupt hormones and cause health problems) by the Environmental Working Group. I keep coming back to Blue Lizard sunscreen for sensitive skin. It is unscented, which I like. It has a medium consistency, so it goes on well and rubs in fairly easily. Like pretty much all mineral sunscreens, it has a whitening effect—as in, you may see whiteness, especially around facial hair like eyebrows and your hairline—but I bought a cheaper brand while I was on vacation and was quickly reminded of how superior this product is in terms of whitening. The cheaper product left these pasty smears over parts of my body. I think Blue Lizard uses ingredients that help it to go on in a balanced way, so that the active ingredients are distributed evenly and the product isn't too visible.

On my most recent beach trip, I used Blue Lizard religiously. When I applied it in the morning and again every couple of hours, it protected me against sunburn—and this was an exceptionally sunny trip, and I'm an especially fair person.

I haven't found that this sunscreen stays on especially well when I exercise, but I sweat heavily when I do, and I haven't really found _any_ mineral sunscreen that stays on through heavy sweating. What I _have_ found is that mineral sunscreens don't run into my eyes and cause them to burn (from irritation, not sun) as easily.

Worked well, but stained my bathing suit

Comments about Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Sensitive, SPF 30+, 5 fl oz:

I used this sunscreen all week on a beach vacation.

Pros: worked great and I felt good using it because it's highly rated by the Environmental Working Group.

Cons: after a few consecutive days of use, this was really really tough to get off my skin! I use body scrub, loofah, etc. and would still find some on my skin after showering. It also stained on of my dark colored bathing suits - light colored bathing suits were fine.

Bottom line: I wouldn't buy this again because I've found other sunscreens that are safe, effective and more gentle on my skin and clothing.

since i have fair skin n it can leave a very white cast. i called the co and she told me to use my regular moisturizer underneath to alleviate the issue. it makes spreading it on easier n doesnt cake into large pores this way. besides the pros i listed another plus is the tad of whiteness makes my fair, pinkish, blotchy skin look great.

Comments about Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Sensitive, SPF 30+, 5 fl oz:

I started going to the Caribbean for summer vacation a few years ago, and always got horrible irritation that lasted for weeks after we returned. My allergist recommended this, and I use nothing else and have never had a burn or rash again. Am in the Virgin Islands now enjoying myself instead of hurting. A must for people with sensitive skin.

Comments about Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Sensitive, SPF 30+, 5 fl oz:

I have a toddler, and wanted to be super extra definitely sure that I was protecting him from the sun as much as humanly possible during our one week vacation - I myself tan nicely as long as I have sunblock on, but if I miss a spot, it turns red and peels - he seems to have the same type of skin, and I do not want him red and peeling!

This product worked very well - but so did the neutrogena baby sunbock I bought last year when I couldn't get my hands on this stuff in time for that vacation.

So in summary - it's good stuff, but there's no reason not to pay less for one of the other brands.

I used it as well on my face (same as I did last time with the neutrogena stuff), and I got the same results as last year - it's not that it doesn't work or isn't great, I just don't see the benefit of paying more for this!

              Hope that helps!

Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Sensitive, SPF 30+

               – Everybody loves to soak up the sun, but your skin needs protection from the damage that sunburn can cause. Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Sensitive, SPF 30+ is ideally suited for daily use on sensitive skin, and the bottle even changes color when UV light is present.

              Sensitive but tough

If you need a gentle but truly effective sunscreen recommended by dermatologists, Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Sensitive, SPF 30+ may be just right for you.

Free of fragrances, parabens and chemical sunscreens, this specially formulated product from Blue Lizard can be used daily under makeup or smoothed over your whole body to keep you protected against UVA and UVB rays. It is water resistant and designed to stay on but easy to reapply if needed or after swimming or a hard workout.

The clever color-changing bottle will alert you to the presence of UV light and remind you to cover up and apply sunscreen. It is a fun way to teach kids about safety in the sun.

              What is inside?

Each bottle of sunscreen contains 10% zinc oxide for protection from the UVA spectrum. Zinc oxide is well known for helping to prevent skin irritation for those with delicate skin. A patented formula called Z-Cote Zinc Oxide is used in Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Sensitive, SPF 30+, so you can get the maximum coverage of the mineral on your body and the best defense against the sun.

5% titanium dioxide is also present, and along with zinc oxide, the formula helps reflect UV radiation away from the skin. With SPF 30+, Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Sensitive helps ensure that your skin is protected against UVB rays. Reapply regularly, especially after towel drying, swimming, or sweating.

              Enjoy the outdoors

Developed in sunny Australia and currently manufactured in the United States, Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Sensitive, SPF 30+ is a great way to look after your skin so you can get outside and enjoy the sun all year round.
