Blue Lizard promotes this sunscreen as a zinc oxide sunscreen. This is misleading. Yes, it contains a very small percentage of zinc oxide. But it mainly relies on chemical screens, many of which do not provide broad spectrum protection. The misleading aspect of this alone is reason enough not to buy it. But the main reason I wouldn't use it is because it doesn't provide the protection I need.

It is to great to find a sunscreen with large amount of zinc in it. Most sunscreens with zinc have very little percentage of it in the product.

I wear this for my swim, run bike workouts and races. Gives excellent protection and it doesn't irritate my skin. Has no smell which is a plus

I'm so glad that I can get Blue Lizard Sport suncream at this site. I used to buy it directly from my dermatologist but her office is always out of stock anymore. We live and play at a lake and often visit the Texas coast. I have a fair complexion, sensitive skin, and am prone to skin cancers. Blue Lizard Sport really does the trick for me because it totally blocks the bad UV rays. I don't have to reapply for HOURS, even after water sports. It is too greasy for the face, though, so I use the facial product (every single day) by Blue Lizard. This brand is from Australia and the Aussies really know how to battle sun damage. Their government does not allow claims of more than 30 SPF protection, so that is why you do not see more than 30+SPF protection advertised on Blue Lizard creams. I used some name brand SPF50+ creams and got burned within an hour or so (even after reapplying). My dermatologist said that the "others" just do not work as effectively. The BL price is very reasonable in comparison.

My grandson is allergic to sunscreen. We have tried every brand. While we were on vacation in May someone recommended Blue Lizard sunscreen. I could not find it locally so I ordered it from the Drug Store. It works great and he does not break out in a rash after using it. If you have an allergic reaction to sunscreen try this product! I do not know what is different about it but it really works for him. The only draw back I found is it is really runny so you have to be careful when squeezing the bottle. Try it you will not be sorry!

I did read other reviews about Blue Lizard prior to purchase. There are several types of skin in our family from fair to olive, the lotion always rubs in well, no white streaks and it more like "lotion". After application you don't feel greasy. With three small children lathering them up usually leads to hand washing due to the oily feeling, not with this product. The coverage in the water was amazing!!! Lasted the full four hours without any burn on a hot sunny day, I will continue to use/purchase this product over any other sunscreen.

My son has eczema and this is the only sunscreen that doesn't give him a rash. I also did extensive research before starting to buy it and most doctors agree it's the mildest, but still effective, one on the market skin problems or not.
