The Blueair 203 is AHAM certified for rooms up to 240 square feet with a CADR of 155. A perfect bedroom companion, the Blueair 203 packs a complete, high-performance air purifier into a beautifully compact design that's incredibly quiet. The Blueair 203 doesn't have to be restricted to just the bedroom. It's also great in small areas and workspaces to get rid of pesky airborne allergens including, but not limited to, pollen, dust, smoke, pet dander, bacteria and mold spores. All that remains is impeccably clean air.
How it works
The Blueair 203 series air purifier intakes air through the back of the unit. The air is passed through the pre-filter where large particles are trapped, then through the electrostatic HEPA-type filter where the small particles are trapped. The combined filtration technologies allow the Blueair air purifiers to achieve 99.97% filtration efficiency, down to .1 micron while changing the air in your room up to 5 times to 20 times per hour (depending on room size).
Patented HEPASilent technology
All Blueair air purifiers feature exclusive patented HEPASilent™ filtration technology for outstanding filtration efficiency, as well as extremely quiet and energy efficient operation. The typical air cleaner traps particles using only one type of technology. The secret of Blueair's technology is the use of both mechanical and electrostatic filtering. This involves special filter material and an ozone-free electrostatic ionizer that charges particles so they are electrostatically attracted to the filter fibers. No other air purifier brand has this exclusive technology.
Progressive filter structure
Blueair uses a progressive filter structure. Most filters from other manufacturers use a thinner filter that consists of the same size of fiber throughout. Blueair filters have millions of ultra-fine fibers in different sizes that decrease in size deeper in the media. Thus, the name 'progressive'. Because of this, Blueair filters resist loading or clogging and continue filtration at peak performance levels longer allowing maximum airflow while keeping high efficiency.
Near silent operation
Due to the unique HEPASilent™ filtration technology, the Blueair 203 is one of the quietest mechanical air purifiers on the market. This is because the exclusive filters allow the fan to work less hard to move the air through the filter while also using an extra quiet, noise-reducing motor. The unit features steel construction to reduce vibration and noise. In direct comparative, noise testing of our unit and other mechanical air cleaners, the Blueair units were found to be the quietest.
Built to last
Blueair products are noted for outstanding quality. The galvanized steel construction of the Blueair 203, rather than plastic, means that it is incredibly durable and environmentally friendly. All units are powder coated with paint that produces no chemical off-gassing. Blueair uses a special motor for near silent operation with many years of trouble-free service. Also, the polypropylene filters are resistant to fiber shedding and recyclable.
Low energy consumption
Blueair was the first air purifier brand to have all units certified by ENERGY STAR®. The 203 uses 20 to 80 Watts depending on speed level, compared to an average light bulb of 60 Watts, this is very low!
Award winning design
The Blueair design is sleek and contemporary and has won the most prestigious award in Scandinavia, the Excellent Swedish Design award. Its flat panel design allows for greater placement options to ensure it fits into any environment and looks good at the same time! Rolling casters or handles allow easily moving the Blueair from room to room. A Blueair model is on permanent display at the National Museum in Stockholm, Sweden.
