I have been giving this to my 3 year old son for awhile now and I just learned of the extreme controversy over soy. This product lists soy within the first 5 ingredients. I hope I haven't done any permanent damage to my son. We are stopping use of this product immediately.
My daughter has been drinking Pediasure for 2 years now and her doctor suggested this to give her a little more. She loves it! She likes how it comes in her very own box and if she wakes up in the morning before I do, she can go into the closet and get it out and start drinking without having to wake me up. My only complaint is that it only comes in vanilla and she prefers chocolate or strawberry. That's easily remedied by pouring it into a cup and adding some strawberry or chocolate syrup - although that's not an option when we're traveling.
My son has multiple special needs yet is able to eat from a bottle. Problem is, he doesn't LIKE to eat...and that can be VERY stressful! Having this high calorie stuff helps me relax a little bit because I know that even though he isn't eating as often or as much as he should, at least I'm getting in as many calories I can at the times he will eat. I do mix this stuff with chocolate, fruit juice/purees, etc, so he will be more interested in the taste. I'm hopint to avoid a G-tube, but this can be used in a G-tube as well.
My son is a poor eater and had failure to thrive. His growth had stopped. This drink tastes good and provides him with all the vitamins he needs and the fat. It was so difficult to get him to meet his daily caloric intake until we switched to boost 1.5. Now, he is growing again and looks much healthier.
This is the only product that has helped my son gain weight. It's the only liquid he drinks, and he likes it. I get emails frequently from drugstore.com about sales, but it always excludes dietary supplements. Wish I could utilize coupons with this product since it's expensive and my son drinks 2-3 cartons/day.

Storage: Store at room temperature. Unused open portion should be covered and refrigerated; discard if not used within 24 hours.
Tube Feeding: Follow physician's instructions. Feed at room temperature. Pour directly into tube feeding container. Adjust formula flow rate and volume to patient's condition and tolerance. Avoid contamination during preparation and use.
Oral Feeding: Chill before serving. Shake well. Pull foil tab and insert straw or pour into container.
