I have tried every gentle formula out there from rx creams like elidel to clinique for sensitive skin and nothing has worked,..until this! This magical serum is not irritating, doesn't taste or smell bad (none at all actually) and lasts so much longer than any moisturizer. I used to have to lotion up every hour or more but with this I can put it on and it feels natural for hours. Doesn't even feel like it's on,..not thick or greasy or anything else. Wish I would have found this sooner. I can even wear it under makeup. Comments about Boots Expert Sensitive Hydrating Serum, 1.69 fl oz: I have a super-dry, hyper-sensitive (not acne, but allergy/eczema-prone) complexion & after many years using the Clinique 3-Step products, I developed a sudden nasty intolerance. I've been looking for a replacement for a very long time. A British beauty blogger suggested Boots' "Expert" line. I couldn't believe the price. (Boots is a mega-pharmacy in the UK & this is their house brand.) I picked up the eye cream first & that went well, so I bought the toner, serum & moisturizer. I tried each product for a week, separately, to make sure I could tolerate them individually. So, now I wash my face w/Cetaphil, use Boots' "Expert Sensitive Hydrating" toner, serum, moisturizer & eye cream every morning & night, & finally feel like myself again. It's light, but when I touch my face I can feel the difference & when I wash my face I can tell I'm rinsing away barrier that protected my skin all day. Does it do any anti-aging magic? To tell you the truth, I never thought I'd find an effective moisturizer again, so if it diminished lines, that's just a bonus. Yes, I was just that desperate. Also, remember that everyone reacts to different chemicals, just because you have a bad reaction, it doesn't mean that everyone will. I learned the hard way... YOU HAVE TO TEST EVERYTHING if you have sensitive skin. It's just part of life. That's why I tried to be specific in this review, so women who have similar issues can make better judgement about what might work for them. Good luck.

Comments about Boots Expert Sensitive Hydrating Serum, 1.69 fl oz: Boots Expert Serum is more of a serum/cream. It isn't packed with ingredients that are beneficial to skin, but that's okay. I wanted something to put on before makeup application that wasn't going to irritate my skin and give it some moisture at a good price. This fits the bill fine. Pros

Comments about Boots Expert Sensitive Hydrating Serum, 1.69 fl oz: I have purchased this product several times, and it is a great product. I have very sensitive combination skin, and this does not irritate it at all. It absorbs instantly and is not irritating or greasy at all. The only two downfalls of this product are (1) the pump does not reach the bottom of the bottle, so you are always left with a bit of product at the bottom that is impossible to reach, and (2) it contains parabens, which I typically try to avoid. Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about Boots Expert Sensitive Hydrating Serum, 1.69 fl oz: I really wanted to like this as I have been trying to find a light moisturizer that works with my super sensitive skin and doesn't clog my pores. This seemed to fit the bill, but sadly it made my combo skin super oily/shiny and also stung a bit. Might be best for dry skin that isn't so sensitive. Pros

Comments about Boots Expert Sensitive Hydrating Serum, 1.69 fl oz: I was looking for an inexpensive alternative to my favorite serum, Philosophy's "When Hope is Not Enough". This seems to work just as well for a much lower price. The serum is creamy, absorbs very well and has no fragrance. I use it under my moisturizer morning and night. My husband likes it too, and he has super-sensitive skin. Pros

Comments about Boots Expert Sensitive Hydrating Serum, 1.69 fl oz: I have been using this product for quite some time now. I have very sensitive skin, and this serum does not irritate it at all. It is non-greasy, absorbs quickly, and can be worn under makeup. It also has absolutely no fragrance, which I prefer for face products. My only complaints about this product are: First, this serum does have parabens in it, which I typically try to avoid. Secondly, it has a pump that does not reach the bottom of the bottle, so at a certain point, you have to scoop the serum out of the bottom of the bottle with your finger or a Q-tip. Pros

Comments about Boots Expert Sensitive Hydrating Serum, 1.69 fl oz: Great product! I have dry and sensitive skin and this product hydrates my skin immediately. I can leave it without lotions and still good after night! I'm amazed by this and strongly recommend since it does not have much harmful ingredients that may lead to cancer. Love it even more for the price. |
