New Valve: Smooth Flow, No Leaks!
Helps Reduce Colic & Ear Infections
Softer Nipples That Don't Collapse: The Born Free™ nipples are extremely soft and gentle for your baby to suckle. The nipples are available in 5 different flow rates to suit the requirements of your baby from 0-18 months.
The Revolutionary Inner Valve and Air Vent: The new innovative air vent helps keep a low level of vacuum which is known to help reduce colic symptoms such as gas, spit up and the risk of middle ear infection. The unique inner valve helps prevent the hard suckling needed with conventional bottles and unlike other vented bottles, it prevents side leak and allows you to shake freely when mixing.
Safer Bisphenol-A Free Plastic: The Born Free™ bottle is made of the new safe Swiss made honey-colored material Polyamide (PA). This material does not contain Bisphenol-A or Phthalates, Bisphenol-A is a hormone-disrupting chemical that may leach from other polycarbonate (PC) type plastic bottles and is potentially harmful to babies.
Safe for Breast Fed Babies: The Born Free™ feeding system is especially suitable for breast fed babies who are being introduced to bottle feeding. The unique air valve begins the steady flow of liquid when baby starts to nurse - just like with breast feeding.
What is Bisphenol-A (BPA)? Bisphenol-A (BPA) is a chemical compound used to create polycarbonate plastic, a hard, clear plastic used widely in consumer products, including food and beverage containers. A growing body of scientific research suggests that small amount of BPA may leach into foods or beverages stored in polycarbonate containers, especially when the contents are acidic, high in fat, or heated. Research suggests that BPA may act as an endocrine disruptor, a substance which mimics natural human hormones.

I used Avent w/my firstborn 5 years ago and loved it, but with all this worry about BPA, I wanted bottles I wouldn't feel guilty about- and Born Free bottles are it! Both of my twins are comfortable with these bottles and are now practicing holding their bottles with no problems. They also don't have leaking issues, like I used to have with Avent. There are extra parts with the inner valve, but they're not hard to assemble. Maybe when more BPA products are available on the market, the cost will go down. Overall though, I highly recommend them!

good bottle
Occasionally the nipple collapses on these bottles but it did seem to help with his gas.

Comments about BornFree Eco Classic Bottles, 9 oz:
The instruction booklet does not account for one of the parts, which is confusing and annoying. Briefly, it's a plain disk that goes under the nipple (above the vent) for shaking and travel purposes. -- It's not in the diagram. What's more annoying is that the customer service rep did not seem familiar with the product or instruction manual (I had additional questions and wound up calling them twice -- very unimpressive). Nonetheless, I ultimately like these bottles very much. Quite simple and easy, and the kid doesn't get any air. Plus he seems to really take to the nipple. I haven't yet moved onto the Level 2, but I've ordered it and the Level 3 in anticipation of staying with this brand.
Comments about BornFree Eco Classic Bottles, 9 oz:
The Born Free is a good bottle, but it is expensive. I would not recommend it for anyone with a newborn because the venting system is just too annoying to assemble and disassemble and clean, especially for night feedings. It's a frustrating additional step. My other annoyance was that the bottle set only came with one venting system -- which was ridiculous because I had two bottles and had to make sure the venting system was always cleaned and sterilized and ready to go. We shelved it until my daughter was about 6 months. I didn't notice any difference with regard to less gas when compared to other bottles (Avent & Think Baby) that we used.
Comments about BornFree Eco Classic Bottles, 9 oz:
My husband and I have tried Avent, Dr. Brown's, Playtex, and Bornfree and we found that BornFree bottles were the best. Avent was nice because not as many parts to wash but they leak. They do not leak often but when they do, it's always at the most inopportune times. Dr. Brown's bottles have just as many parts as BornFree but I prefer washing the BornFree's extra parts. Dr. Brown requires you to use this long thin brush and I imagine the long piece likely doesn't wash well in the dishwasher. Playtex was just plain flimsy. BornFree bottles seal perfectly and the antigas system works like a charm. It may not reduce your baby's colic but at least you'll know it's not due to him/her taking in too much air from the bottle.[...]

I like these bottles. They are a little expensive but worth the money. They are durable. I was concerned how my daughter would take to them weaning but after a week, she adjusted fine. Now I can breast-feed and bottle-feed. Very convenient! I wish I had bought them when my son was younger. Lots of pieces to clean but what good bottle doesn't have too many pieces. A good investment.
Comments about BornFree Eco Classic Bottles, 9 oz:
I used the Dr. Brown's bottles that a lactation consultant recommended but they would leak on occasion, which became annoying. I've never had the Born Free brand leak and my daughter likes them... so it's a winner in my book.
Comments about BornFree Eco Classic Bottles, 9 oz:
I had the BornFree glass bottles before and I loved the mechanism as it actually reduces the gas. The transition from breast to bottle (still breastmilk) was easy with these nipples.
My baby is 8 weeks old now... time for the daycare so I was forced to buy plastic bottles (daycare safety policy for glass bottles). I was reluctant at first as I heard so many bad things about harmful BPA, etc. However, I read a lot of third party reviews and found out the BornFree plastic bottles are the only actual TESTED BPA-free bottles.
So I bought them and I am super happy as it has the same mechanism for reducing gas. The plastic ones are even better since the marks are more clear.
The only problem is washing as they have lots of pieces. 2 pieces more than regular bottles, but I don't mind going through the cleaning pain knowing my baby will not have those harmful chemical substances, gas, and colic.
