I have a dozen of these and atleast 6 of them do not stay locked on the unit. when you run the water through the filter the unit flies off and sprays water over everything. I have both nthe nchrome and the white units. Also the ones that work the water does not come out straight but like a shower head. Brita has lost my confidence and I will never buy any more. They cost to much to have to throw them away.

My first filter set and filter base worked fine. Finally, after the indicator light burned out, I ordered another base and filter set. This time the base needs to be readjusted and repeatedly screwed on to the faucet.....maybe once per week. I probably should have returned the filter base, but considered it too much of a hassle. I'll just wait until this one finally wears out before reordering.

These filters save the flavour of the expensive teas I use. Our water is full of chlorine and it ruins both coffee and tea. The filters are a great solution to this problem. I also use them to make ice cubes since they eliminate the hard water deposit that I used to find at the bottom of the ice cube trays. They are a tad expensive.

Our City water is good, but Brita makes it taste better. I use the pitcher version at the office.

I had been double filtering my water using another brand for the faucet and a Brita pitcher, since I don't trust the local water supply. However it was time for a change as I could see mildew forming on the competing brand's faucet and it was hard to remove. Brita is easy to install and operate and no mildew is forming since my first filter. I still double filter - now with the Brita faucet and a Brita pitcher. Since both filters operate on the same principle I am not sure whether I am wasting money, but I have peace of mind. The filter is easy to install, just make sure you use two hands to support the base. I especially like the electronic light indicator on the faucet that tells when it's time to replace the filter.

I have had the same Brita faucet filter for several years, and I love it. The flow through the filters is relatively quick and the filters seem to last for a long time.
