I bought this after reading the reviews and wanted to start with the Extra Gentle sponge in case the Gentle and Regular were too rough for me. Turns out Extra Gentle is just right. I used this yesterday and I could see the difference immediately. It sloughed off my dead skin cells and the blackheads were significantly gone. My skin had a slight glow about it and skin felt soft to the touch. Using this made me a believer in exfoliation. And when I applied my moisturizer, it went on so smoothly and I only had to use very little to cover my entire face. This is one of the most effective beauty products I have ever used. But it is a [$] sponge with a limited useful lifespan. I haven't actually counted the number of uses I get per sponge, but I can tell you that after about 6 uses it begins to compact down. This is the result of squeezing to rinse it out. After a dozen uses it begins to fray and of course, from day one, it collects dead skin (by design) which does not remove completely with each rinse. So at some point it is just too disgusting and unhygienic to continue using. I am urging this manufacturer to reduce the price, and I hope other reviewers will do the same. They have been raising it consistently. If they can justify this price, for reasons other than demand, I hope they will do so on this web site. I will not be buying this anymore, it was an expensive waste. Now I think the smaller flat squares of these, multiple in package, might be a better choice. I might try those.
