I put this liberaly on the back of my calves which is a high burn area when surfing and went out surfing. It was the only area that really got ultra exposure since I was wearing a rashguard. Short story:, my calves got fried to bacon after only about 2 hrs in the water!! I was very disappointed in this sunscreen. To it's credit I will say that I didn't seem to get burned while snorkeling though. So maybe it's just not suited to water activities where the water is more vigorous, like SURFING. Kinda odd since it's called surfer formula! Next time I'm gonna try HIC 2x Performance Sport Sunblock SPF 50 and see if it works better. I don't think i'll buy this again. This is the only product that I have found that I can put on just out of the shower and be good to go for the day. I have never been burned where I have applied Bullfrog. Pros

This surfer gel seems to be wax-based, is difficult to wash off with soap, and makes any clothes that come in contact with it stick to it. I believe I would even prefer the greasy, lotion-based sun blocks, which I have always avoided for the same reasons, for they might be less greasy and sticky. Pros

It completely dried my kids faces out (the legs a little), to the point I had to put triple antibotic medicine on their faces because lotion only caused burning because of the cracks. Poor babies. It smells better that the regular formula, which has a strong alcohol smell, but original does not dry skin out. All works well to protect from sun! Pros
