It has a nice cooling sensation when applied and it's like you can feel it hydrating your lips. I had terrible chapped lips last winter (I was in a new climate and my skin was not adapting well at all), and I was using chap stick, which was not cutting it. I found this in a 4 pack for $[$] (it came with a tin of this, a tube of this, the honey kind and another kind, but I don't remember which one) and all of them did a wonderful job at treating my painfully chapped lips. This along with Carmex, are my favorite lip products when I need something hydrating and soothing. It's very hard, which makes it long lasting & smash resistant, but not as moisturizing as softer lip balms. I recommend getting Dr. Bronner's Peppermint lip balm instead of this. Bronner's has organic ingredients, more hydration, and is about the same price as Burt's Bees. The peppermint flavor is milder, but if you have dry lips Bronner's is a more effective balm. The honey lip balm, however, is just wonderful. When it's cold it feels like it isn't going on well, but once it warms to skin temp it lays down a very protective swath of moisture and wax to hold the moisture in. And the best part is- no petrochemicals! Comments about Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm, 1 ea: This lip balm has to be used over and over again as the lips do dry out after using it. The reason this happens is because it contains mint, which is very drying. Although it feels cool and tastes nice, it really shouldn't be used as an ingredient in lip balm, since it dries the lips out. Otherwise, all the ingredients are great. My lips feel very soft when it's on, and it easily glides on. It stays longer than some lip balms. And most importantly, it's moisturizing. My lips are soft, even after it wears off of my lips. I recommend that you sleep with it on. I have no wrinkles, but I bet this would do a great job at reducing their appearance. I hate when some lip balms make my lips look all pale, but even with a thick coating of this stuff, they don't go pale. Actually, the soothing action sort of makes them a bit more pink than usual. Feels not-so-good. Overall: Good for casual/occasional use only, but if you want real moisturising and long term treatment, look for an alternative brand.
