You can eat with it on and not get any weird flavors, and it keeps my lips nice and smooth. I use it all day everyday in place of lipstick, and I don't know the last time I had chapped lips. But, a few weeks after everyday use I got dermatitis on my lips and around my mouth. I found out I have an allergy to beeswax. There is no warning on Burt's Bee's products that tell you they could cause allergic reactions, and since I have never had a reaction to bee stings or honey, I never thought I could have a reaction. My lips peeled and my entire mouth was red for over a month; it was painful and embarrassing. Before using this product, I recommend spot testing for a few weeks prior to applying it to lips. My skin has improved significantly since switching to their brand however I did not like this product. The smell is completely unbearable so I gave it away to my sister after the first use. It is a strong honey scent - I think it is thyme honey which has a much stronger flavor and smell than most.
