i've been looking for a good SPF lip moisturizer for years. i thought this would finally cease my search but it only adds to the pile of non-impressive spf lip balms in my drawer. it doesn't glide on to your lips easily, and if you already have chapped lips, it will make the chapped skin even more noticeable. as i said before, it leaves a white residue on your lips. since i've already purchased it, i'll continue to use it but i have to apply some vaseline before OR apply a colored lip gloss over it.

This lip balm tastes and smell great but leaves behind a gross white film! So disappointing, probably the only burt's bees product I don't like and will not buy again

I usually love Burt's Bees lip balms and I wanted to protect my lips from the sun, so I purchased this product. The balm itself is tremendously thick. It actually hurt when I tried to apply it because it just tugged on my cracked lips. When I was able to actually apply a layer of the lip balm, it turned my lips white, which is embarrassing if you apply it without a mirror. It tasted and smelled awful. Reading all of the other reviews made me think I bought a defective one, but it doesn't matter because I won't purchase this product again.

This stuff was great on my lips. Not only did it taste good, it moisturized very well.
I try not to use Carmex or Carol's Daughter Lip Butter (only when I am desperate) but this lip palm is the best I have used (besides Blistex)!

I love this lip balm because it works great, feels good and protects my lips from sun damage. I never leave home without it!

i'm out in the field all day, exposed to sun and wind. this stuff is an effective sunscreen that smells great (doesn't taste like anything though, so no worries about licking it off). it feels a little grainy from the tube but goes on smooth, doesn't turn your lips white (like the lifeguard's choice) and doesn't get too melty in a pocket. if it had a higher spf, it'd be practically perfect

smells wonderful however does not seem as effective as original burts lip care products. would rate it about the same as the burts with pomegranate oil but at [$] more to me it is not worth it

I am extremely sun-sensitive and this is the best lip balm I've tried that really does prevent sunburnt lips -- without being all clumpy and thick. It's heavier than a standard balm but still goes on smoothly and evenly. So it's got the good features without the bad.

This is only of the only lip balms out there using a reasonably safe form of sunscreen--check it out, even other "organic" brands use chemical sunblocks. Even if you are willing to risk putting those on your body, you should at least avoid chemical sunblocks on your lips, which you are bound to quickly absorb into your bloodstream. This sunblock balm uses mineral sunscreens, and manages to do so without turning your lips white (probably because the SPF is not very high--to make a beach or snow-worthy sunBLOCK lip protector, it would turn your lips whitish with zinc).

It's fairly moisturizing, has a reasonable taste/flavor ("co-ed" in my opinion), and inexpensive. I really do wish they put the same sunblocks in a tinted balm or gloss, though--otherwise "putting your lips on" is at least a two step process (burt's sunscreen lip protection + burt's or other lipstick/gloss).

This product is good & feels nice on the lips. The only complaint about it is that it actually smells more like coconuts than passion fruit but I can forgive that. It's effective as most/all Burt's Bees lip stuff is.
