I have had older bottles that I actually bought on the shelves from stores and they smelt rancid and they will go on very sticky/tachy feeling. So if anyone is having a bad experience, check out the date. I got a fresh bottle and it is great smelling and goes on creamy. My skin is so dry that it soaks in very quickly and will not be greasy. Maybe one should use less in the daytime--a little goes a long way. In the night I use more with gloves or socks on. Ladies, get wise and check the date. You realize, this product has natural perseratives, so it won't last as long as synthetics. But, that's why we like it because it is so natural. Also, be careful of kits. They have different dates inside and you might be getting some older product and you will get a false representation again. I was going to order some BBproducts here so I hope that Drugstore.com is giving out fresh products. I know my last order of different products here were very fresh, with great dates, so I am hopeful! I hope this helps some, and enjoy your Burts Bees--I do! I have extremely dry hands and wear hand cream all the time so I need something lighter and quick absorbent. This hand cream is very moisturizing but too thick and greasy. It's great for a nighttime care with cotton gloves, though. The almond scent is nice but a little strong. Pros

I only recently discovered that this is because one of the ingredients in almost all hand lotions is alcohol which, of course, dries out your skin. Out of curiosity, I checked my three favorite hand lotions (my skin gets quite dry in the winter, as I live in Maine), from budget Neutrogena Norwegian Formula, to the middle-priced Burt's Bees, to the much more expensive Philosophy Hope in a Tube; the only one that doesn't have alcohol as an ingredient is Burt's Bees.
