I work in an active job in a school environment that does not always have good climate control. This is complicated by hot flashes. There are days when I don't stop sweating until I get back home. I have tried several other creams, which all worked to some extent to keep me feeling cleaner and rash-free, but they either stained my panties or had a medicine-like smell or worse. The Burt's Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment does not stain undies. The fragrance is clean and pleasant, with rosemary top notes. I don't smell like diaper ointment when I get hot--and no more heat rashes! I would like to see a much lower price, but a little bit goes a long way for this wonderful product.

I got this as a gift and use it only when traveling. Numerous times the ointment has seperated and an oil comes out first when dispensing. This drips right through your fingers and onto whatever is below, the baby, his clothes, a silk duvet cover. I have tried to "mix" the tube prior to opening using a massage method with the cap on but the first thing out is still the oil. For this reason I do not recommend buying this ointment. It is far to messy and I don't have time to muck around with this product when i'm trying to change a diaper on the go. Although I got it as a gift, it's not worth the money.

Comments about Burt's Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment, 3 oz:

        Why this cream either:
        1. separates into oil and cream or 2. why it may feel stiff in the tube
is not because of a product or packaging defect. It means that Burt's Bees does not use chemical emulsifiers or weird preservatives to make it more convenient to use. I would recommend kneading the tube before using- like when you buy it or in the morning when you know you are going to use it throughout the day. That takes less time than brushing your teeth. You may also use a "natural" green-washed product (sounds natural but the ingredients tell you differently) or make your own. I like something made with ingredients found in nature.

Comments about Burt's Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment, 3 oz:

This is the best diaper rash ointment out there. It has been so extremely effective in treating diaper rash and bottom irritation for both my son and daughter, plus it smells great and it's natural. The cons: sometimes, the materials can separate, so oil comes out first, then the white cream. I've also had tubes become very hard to squeeze. And yet, I continue to use it because of the almost immediate relief that it provides to my children. Well worth the money, despite its imperfections.

          Hard to squeeze

Comments about Burt's Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment, 3 oz:

This is a bit pricey for the amount that you get. Since it is so expensive, I only use it on my baby when he has a severe rash. I see an improvement after a day and it takes a few days to heal completely. I've tried other creams (desitin, A&D, aquaphor, butt paste) and I did not see an improvement after a day of using them. i found those to be better for prevention rather than treating one that already exists. Wish that this would come in a jar or stick because it is so hard to squeeze out. Sometimes the ointment separates and the oil comes out first.

Comments about Burt's Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment, 3 oz:

As a new mom, I've been using a lot of different diaper rash products.
Burt's Bees was my first choice to start off. It smells good, and seems to work fine when skin has no rash. However, it ignores its duty on existing rash. I didn't see any healing effect at all! Indeed, it made the symptom worse.
My doctor recommended Butt Paste which I found a bit messy.
Lavanilla The Healthy Baby Bottom prevents and heals rashes dramatically. My son's diaper rash always improved right after I applied the cream. It's a bit pricey though.
Overall, I'm happy with Earth Mama Angel Baby Angel Baby Bottom Balm. It's like A+D, but better!

I have tried other products (Desitin, Butt Paste, Aquaphor, etc) however, they did not cure or prevent rashes. This is a very creamy and rich formula that works even being rubbed off on the diaper during normal movement. This both cleared up and prevented the rash - a little goes a long way as well. It is a bit pricey. The only diaper cream I will ever use and recommend.

I am not commenting on the product's efficacy. My complaint with this product is the packaging. It is nearly impossible to use this diaper cream on a squirmy toddler because it is so hard to get it out. The tube is very stiff, and requires a lot of time and effort to get it out - and I don't have a lot of time to expend effort when I'm trying to get a new diaper on my squirmy toddler. It may be fine for a newborn who doesn't move, but don't buy this if your child moves when you are changing his/her diaper. I have written to the manufacturer and hopefully they will fix the packaging.
