This product form is not convenient for everyday being in the sun but is great for carrying in your purse, diaper bag or stroller bag. My older grandchild likes to apply it herself on her arms but needs help spreading it around. You can't go wrong when the product is from Burt's Bees.

Ok, I'm a sunscreen stickler and I want my kids covered from head to toe when they are playing in the sun. They burn very easily and their safety and comfort is very important to me. That being said, I have a toddler and a 3 year old and they don't sit still for long. This stick is very dry. Takes a lot of effort to get their faces covered when a lotion is squirt, rub, go. I got one cheek done on one kid before I gave up and grabbed the bottle of lotion. I might use this on my own face on my nose and cheeks but even then - seems like a pain.

This product was used on a 9 month old; I love the concept but there are some real challenges that come with it. The SPF is 30 so any time we were really exposed to the sun (down in Palm Dessert) it wasn't enough protection. Some reapplying taking place. Also because you rub it on in stick form it made me think I might not have covered all of the areas on the child.

I think the product would be good for more sporadic sun exposure instances (in stroller on daily activities etc)

Although not the thick, white zinc oxide look typical of lifeguards, this sunscreen stick does have a faint white appearance. As a result, it is easy to see where it's been applied. Great for application on a squirmy little one.

I love the Burt's Bees line - I'm always confident about the safety of their products, which makes it a plus for this children's sunscreen.

I actually tried it myself prior to a run outside in the sun. I was pleased to find it didn't sweat into my eyes like most sunscreens, and it protected me from sunburn.

However, it goes on VERY white, and doesn't rub in well. This means you have to use the stick to cover every surface completely, and not mind your skin turning a pasty color.

I suppose for babies this might be a plus since you could see from the white where you had missed a spot, but it would take a lot of sunscreen to do an effective job.
