Afterwards my lips became extremely dry and irritated and shortly thereafter became painful and began to peel. I had no idea what to do, my grandmother suggested Vaseline, but this only made my lips peel more. I went online and started to research products that I could try to get my lips back to normal. I went with this Burt's Bees. After using it a short time my lips began to heal and were not painful anymore. My lips are healed now, but I am going to continue to use this product because winter is on its way and I know that Burt's Bees not only heals, but protects the lips as well. Unfortunately, I had a TERRIBLE allergic reaction to Burt's Bees lip balm. Apparently this only happens to a few people in a million (according to the B.B. chemist), but I warn you-- if you're one of those few, it's AWFUL. After three or four applications, my lips and the skin around them became red, swollen, itchy, and covered in blisters. I had to go to the doctor and buy two prescriptions and a medicated cream, and the outbreak took five or six days to clear up. I've never had a problem with any other type of lip balm, and I'm a balm fanatic. However, I will say that B.B. is great with customer service; I very much appreciate the way they've handled my complaints about this product. So if you're not allergic to this product, it's absolutely fantastic-- just make sure you're not an unlucky one like me! Comments about Burt's Bees Beeswax, Lip Balm with Vitamin E and Comfrey, 1 ea: Feels great going on and it stays on all night. It works best if I scrape off a bit to the outside of my fingernail, then smooth onto my lips. It's a bit heavy for daytime use because it can get sticky.

I had to reapply so many times that I just hated the texture, smell and waxy feeling. I won't purchase it anymore; I favored their product BECAUSE IT CONTAINED comfrey. Keeps my lips feeling great! Only downside? There's something in the product that makes my cat want to lick my lips -- yuck!
