Within minutes of putting it on bites it gives relief. My family and I spend a lot of time outdoors and insect bites are just going to happen. While gardening I foolishly stood in a fireant bed just long enough for my legs to be knee deep in ants, before they alerted for the first bite, and I was not easily able to get the ants off me due to the number and distance I was away from a garden hose. I was in agony sitting on a plant pot in tears with the garden hose trying to wash them off my legs and feet. I was in so much pain, I thought I might go into shock. I ran in the house and I keep this burt bee bite stick in our kitchen drawer. I had used this little wonder stick on a few odd bites and stings in the past, but this time I was not sure that it would "cut the mustard" as they say. I was very surprised and thankfully I received immediate relief. It deflated a very stressful situation very quickly. Also, my daughter is 4, if she gets a bite, she knows where we keep it, and won't even bother to ask, within minutes the itch and sting of a bite is a non issue. We have other bite cream, but we no longer reach for it first. I also think it reduces scaring. In June of this year I had the misfortune of getting nipped by a yellow fly and in the past I have had very severe reactions to their bites which usually results in alot of tissue damage and scaring. The stick gave good relief, and I used it a great deal during the lengthy healing process which I think helped prevent so much scaring. Bottom line, I thought it was expensive as I am a cheapo at heart. I bought it while stocking up the medicine cabinet with my FSA card and quite truthfully after using it, the [$] and something it costs is a bargin. If the stick cost $50. I would still buy it and keep it in the house. It is like other users have said, "like a chap stick", it is very cost effective and travels well in a hot and humid climate. I have had many a lipstick melt in my makeup bag, but this thing does not seem to melt or leak in normal travelling use. WELL Worth the money. Thanks for such a brilliant little product. Comments about Burt's Bees Bug Bite Relief, .25 oz: I find that this works, but my older tube seems to be hard to apply since the stick has gotten drier over the last 6 months. I like it, but wish it would still stay moist enough to apply easily. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Cons Best Uses
Comments about Burt's Bees Bug Bite Relief, .25 oz: I use this for mosquito bites. I find it works well to relieve itching, and the smell isn't bad either - though people may have different opinions on the smell. I have found that the balm inside has dried up a little bit compared with when I first bought it over a year ago, but it is still effective. I do not find that rubbing it a little harder irritates the bug bites. I would buy this again, and plan to do so when this one runs out.
