As the other reviewers said, yes, this product is messy. However, it is by far the best facial scrub I have ever used. I have oily/combination skin, and this product just makes my skin so soft and cleans it so nicely. It does a great job balancing my skin and it gives a smooth, soft texture - lovely! The smell is, as expected, neutral. It doesn't smell girly or manly, it's somewhere in between.

After a few uses, you'll get the hang of how much water to mix it with, and it won't be as messy, so don't let that stop you from trying it!

I was disappointed. Firstly it is not that easy to use. It is very thick and difficult to distribute evenly over one's face, therefore making it difficult to do what it is supposed to do, which is to even out and exfoliate one's skin. Also it is expensive for what it is as the container is very small. I would not buy this product again and will stick to other exfoliators out there.

I absolutely LOVE this. I bought it and the first time I used it I fell in love. You have to know how to use it. I see people are complaining about the texture. You have to add a couple drops of water or what I do is wet my face really well and you just have to work it in. The smell is amazing....it smells like nutmeg so the ones that say ""smells bad" must not like nutmeg lol. I am glad I had this recommended to me.

This product exfoliates mildly, but tends to leave a sort of oily film after it's been washed away. This could be perfect for someone who is looking for a gentle scrub that really moisturizes, but if you have oily skin like I do, it just feels greasy. You could use this scrub, but it almost certainly requires a toner after it in order to remove any residue.

I use this product every morning in the shower, then Aveeno Moisturizing Bar, and Thayer's witch hazel pads for a toner. My face has completely changed from dull to glowing. I love this new routine. This scrub is gentle enough to use everyday even on my sensitive skin.

I don't even remember if I wrote a review about this product but I am going to again.
I used this product back when I was a teenager ('99). It improved my skin and smells delicious (like Sweet Potato Pie).
Right now I am using Pangea's scrub and it smells good and all but doesn't compare to this one. I can't wait to purchase it again.
For people that couldn't figure out how to use it you have to use a little water. Not too much.

Once I figured out how to use this scrub ~ I really like it. You have to add the right amount of water to the paste, for the right consistency. If you don't you will have thick paste or runny scrub. It lasts a lot longer than I originally thought. It makes my skin so soft and silky. The smell is a little odd, but if you can get past the scent it is worth it.

This is a nice product. Different from other scrubs that I've tried. You only need a little to use it. Use a couple drops of water to soften then scrub your face. Has a nice smell and texture. Doesn't dry out your skin.

I don't have a clue what the other more positive reviewers are talking about because I bought it based on what was said and wow, what a waste of money! It has a texture somewhat similar to kids play-dough but much harder to work into a suitable texture for exfoliating. I even tried mixing it using Burt's Bees own orange essence facial cleanser with orange oil! It's somewhere between play-dough and mini chunks of brownie! I'm not about to use glass in a shower for the obvious reason - things tend to get slippery and fall so used it before showering but this didn't do anything. Burt's Bees has lots of good products and uses mostly all-natural stuff and that's why I like the brand but this one really needs re-working. Sorry Burt's Bees and fans. Most things are a hit but this is a miss.

I love using this scrub in the shower it's amazing and my skin feels great afterwards, but sometimes it needs to be backed up with a moisturizer. Great if you' re looking for an all natural scrub that won't empty your pockets.
