I'm clumsy and accidentally burn myself on the oven now and then and this is the best thing ever to have around to make the pain go away and help heal the burn. Also, if you get nosebleeds this stuff is absolutely magical! I get them and they tend to last a while but if I can rub some of this inside my nostril it seems to get the bleeding stopped. I keep a container on me at all times for this reason. If you have a bruise this will help as well. I stumbled upon this stuff about 10 years ago when it was part of the Wise Woman line of Burt's Bees and have used it ever since. If I could buy it in a huge bucket I would! But I guess the smaller container is handy----and can be taken on the plane!

I am not sure who has written the overly positive reviews for this product which all sound suspiciously the same by the way...the claims that the product helps with cuts, quick fix-it for pimples, light bruises are simply untrue. The product is ineffective and did absolutely nothing for me. I tried it for all of the above. It has a hefty price tag for what it is and what it does, and the Burts Bee brand may be selling it but does not justify the price tag. The only thing it was helpful with is to moisturize the cuticles (temporarily, for a few hours) - but that could be done by any other cream and moisturizing hand product. Overall, disappointed.

Comments about Burt's Bees Doctor Burt's Res-Q Ointment, .6 oz:

I found this R-Q ointment to be a waste of money. For not even 1 ounce of ointment! .6 ounces in a tiny tin and it's just olive oil & beeswax & cocoa butter, etc. It didn't do anything any other household oil or lotion did.

Get yourself an 8 ounce (yes eight ounces) tin of good old Bag Balm and get better or at least as good results! -for the same price!

This stuff is ridiculous. Burt's Bees has gone nuts.

Comments about Burt's Bees Doctor Burt's Res-Q Ointment, .6 oz:

I am 76 years old, live in the high desert; dry skin is a given. I am fair-skinned but always use sunscreen and wear a big hat so, considering age and environment, my skin is pretty good.

Several years back an oval red patch about the size of a little finger print appeared right on the cheekbone. I could not figure what it was, too much trouble to make a 100-mile round trip to the dermatologist, so I just dabbed on cover stick when going out in public. I used Rx for rosacea hoping the redness would fade.

Then a few months ago the red mark began to thicken then began to turn scaly. A patch next to it started de-pigmenting to an tough opaque white. Touching the red mark felt like a scab on a healing wound, but it only detached in scaly bits, yuk. I have had exzema on my face in the past so I decided to use the Rx I had for that. I think scaliness, I think exzema, but no change.

I have been using Burt's Bees cuticle stuff for quite a while, a big help, for cuticles and nail growth. Looking it up to re-order, I accidentally saw the Res-Q. Though Burt made no claims about eczema, some reviewers mentioned it. I ordered it about a month ago, and used it daily, sometimes more than once.

The immediate benefit was, Res-Q allowed the cover stick to really cover, it would pat on smoothly hiding the scaliness, and though the elevation of the skin was visible, the color and no-color were hidden.

Then about a week ago – surprise – no redness, no scaliness, no depigmentation, the skin looks normal as it hasn't in years. I continue to dab on the Res-Q, and probably will for a while, since I still don't know what caused the problem.

Guess alert, guess alert! I'm guessing the waxiness of the ointment sealed moisture in from the effects of the drying air, and who knows, if it's really beeswax, there is some of the same antibacterial effect as is in honey.

Whatever, my 76-year-old skin smoothed right out. I'm thinking of warming the Res-Q a little so it would spread more easily, and seeing what it would do for the rest of my face. Ol' Burt has a goldmine if it smooths out crinkles.

Can't wait to try it on the bruises, burns, stings and scrapes as advertised, but I haven't had any yet.

By the way, for all the usage, most of the 6 ounces is still in the cute little tin.

Comments about Burt's Bees Doctor Burt's Res-Q Ointment, .6 oz:

This is absolutely the best product to have on hand for burns. Use it for what it's intended - minor injuries. The product description does not claim to do anything for pimples - some users might say it works for that but not Burt's Bees. Of course, someone is bound to be allergic, but my family has had no problem of any kind. I have used it for years and just would not be without it. It is a little pricey but worth every penny.
