No more products that make my skin go into oil-production overdrive to make up for the icky chemicals I need to treat pimples! A little bit of this stuff goes a long way, so the bottle will last you for a long time. I've been using mine for about a month and it is still nearly full. Normally with natural cleansers containing oils I need to wipe them off with a washcloth so there is no residue, but this cleanser rinses clean without a washcloth (which is probably what most people are looking for). I like most of the Burt's cleansers, but this is definitely the best of them for acne-prone people like me. I was really excited because I read such great reviews from people, even people with sensitive skin like mine. (note:i am a teen, so idk if that helps or not) I also bought a moisterizer for combination skin by Neutrogena, which works pretty good. the first time i washed my face with it my face felt soft. howeverrrrr, a few hours later i broke out into a really bad rash along my jawline up to my mid-cheek and it was burning and red and itchy. so, after using it two times i switched back to my previous face wash (which had been the past 2 days) and now the rash is going away. now my skin is all cracked and dry on the bottom of my face. i am soo dissapointed because i thought this stuff would work for me. maybe i was just allergic to one of the ingredients...i dont know....i also got a few little pimples on my forehead since i used it. I have struggled with cystic acne for a long time. After trying probably over 100 products, this is in my top 5. While I can't say it gave me 100% clear skin, I can definitely tell a difference with this face wash. My overall skin tone is much more even, and it has helped with the redness in my skin quite a lot. This face wash definitely helps with the minor acne that I get on my cheeks and neck. Overall, it leaves your face feeling extremely clean and fresh, without it being over-drying; it cuts through the oils on your skin very well. If you have mild to "average" acne, this face wash is probably great for you. I would say that my biggest pet peeve would have to be the packaging design. It often gets quite messy, and I'm not sure if it's just my bottle, but when I travel with it I find that whenever it tips on it's side the face wash will leak from the grooves of the bottle cap. Still, it's not enough to turn me away from this product.  Pros

I think this cleanser works great and leaves my face clean without feeling like it is stripped. I use this at night with my a facial brush for deep cleaning. I am 64 yrs old,(people tell me I look 10+ years younger) with occasional breakouts that make me think I am still in my teens. Thought I would try Burt's Bees and WOW...Immediate results. My skin is soft, CLEAR, and it is clearing the redness from the healed blemishes. I'm not afraid to go out without make-up. My skin looks terrific and my daughters have commented on how good it looks. I've been telling friends about it too. I just LOVE everything about it. And the product goes far as you only need a little to thoroughly clean your face. Pros

It lathers very nicely, and as long as your use a moisturizer it isn't too drying. I can NEVER use medicated facial washes because my skin is sensitive and I use other topical medications, but this one seems to be just fine! Highly recommended Pros

It's extremely oily but can easily develop dry patches when I use the wrong type of product. I'm also very acne prone. This cleanser made my acne worse. I wouldn't recommend it. I am going to try the Bare Escentuals purifying cleanser now to see if it works on my skin. I've heard good things about the product for all types of skin. Pros

It has been virtually impossible to find a product that does improves redness / does not irritate redness, but still reduces oil - or at least does not increase oil. This facewash is the ONLY wash that I have found in 9 years (and tens of thousands of dollars) that does not increase redness / irritation. I am even able to use it twice daily. It also decreases oil production signifigantly, which is an added bonus since all of the prescription products that I have tried only irritate my rosacea and make the redness worse. I have had no redness and no oil since I began using Burt's. Cannot recommend enough. |
