I have a 3 year old and an 18 month old and wanted a sunscreen without dangerous chemicals but one that was strong enough to protect their super-fair skin (after being inside in cold NYC all winter) from the FL sun. I was a little concerned from some of the reviews that it would be pasty thick, but it was creamy and flowed out easily. You have to rub a little more than with chemical sunscreens but the difference isn't at all dramatic and what wouldn't you do for your kids to be safe? We swam a ton and it stayed on. I'm proud to say my kids are as pale as they were when we left! :) One piece of advice - put it on before you dress your kids. It does look pearly white on clothes or rashers or bathing suits. This smells like citronella. Aside from that, it works very well on the skin of my very fair 7-month-old. Rubs in easily and works for hours, even in the California sun. We live in the Florida Keys, so quality sunscreen is a must! We just came back from a few hours at the pool, and we're very pleased with this sunscreen formulation. It is a little thicker, but I find that encourages me to rub it in more thoroughly and make sure that no spots were missed - a must when covering my 2-year-old. No funny smell, and not greasy (not sure why another reviewer thought so). Doesn't leave a film on your skin like conventional sunscreen, and washed off easily with soap and water when we came home. Yes, it is thick but that is what I like, and what you get with non chemical sunscreens. I don't have trouble rubbing it in at all. It gives great protection and stays on even after swimming.
