I have a 3 year old and an 18 month old and wanted a sunscreen without dangerous chemicals but one that was strong enough to protect their super-fair skin (after being inside in cold NYC all winter) from the FL sun. I was a little concerned from some of the reviews that it would be pasty thick, but it was creamy and flowed out easily. You have to rub a little more than with chemical sunscreens but the difference isn't at all dramatic and what wouldn't you do for your kids to be safe? We swam a ton and it stayed on. I'm proud to say my kids are as pale as they were when we left! :) One piece of advice - put it on before you dress your kids. It does look pearly white on clothes or rashers or bathing suits. I'm rating it 4 stars because it's expensive. There are only 2.9 ounces of product in the tube. It goes on very thick, and I can't imagine it lasting more than a month in the summer. In the past, I've reacted badly to prolonged use of chemical sunscreens, and have found this non-chemical blend to not upset my skin at all. But most importantly, it is chemical-free, which means that if your child's skin reacts to chemical sunscreens (like my son's skin does), you've finally got something you can use! Works great on adults, too -- when I've used it my skin felt very protected, and it never caused me to break out.
