I was doubtful about this conditioner because it has a thin consistency and didn't seem like it would do much as I applied it -- but in fact it made my hair detangle easily in the shower, and my hair dried shiny and soft. Zero irritation to my sensitive scalp. Been using it regularly for a couple of weeks with excellent results. It is not a deep conditioner and probably not a good choice for extremely dry or coarse hair. It's great for my fine, wavy hair, though, and I have already purchased my next bottle.

I originally purchased this item because my scalp had patches of REALLY awful eczema. It was so itchy and scaly from another hair care product that I knew I had to find something to soothe my scalp. I went on the hunt and found this in the baby care aisle. I was looking for something fragrance-free and natural and thought this was what I was looking for. I used it for the first time and noticed that it had a different consistency than regular conditioner, but I figured that was normal. I used it both in the shower and as a leave-in conditioner. The first time use was great. It started to soothe the scalp. I used a second time, which I noticed wasn't as good as the first. It seemed to lose it's effectiveness. After that, it caused scalp acne. I was getting nasty, itchy bumps. The only reason this happens to me with any hair care product is too many additives. It usually happens with so-called "moisturizing" products and it clogs the hair follicles on my scalp. It went directly into the garbage after that. I won't buy this product again.

I use this with the California Baby Calendula Shampoo & Body Wash on a daily basis. I have allergies to fragrance and a particular foaming agent in most skin care products. My dermatologist recommended this product. I like the smell of lavender and it is somewhat strong. This conditioner can be used as a wash out or leave in. I comb it through my hair after I wash my hair and leave it in. I use more on the ends and very little, so it lasts a very long time. I have fine hair. It's not sticky or heavy and you can choose how much conditioning your own hair needs.

After the Cali baby shampoos left my girls hair a tangled mess I was really hoping this would help. I had to use a whole palm full of it just to get enough to work through my 2 year olds hair. It did not help detangle at all. Very dissapointe in this product as I wanted to switch to better all natural product for the kids. I will have to keep looking.
After shampooing, massage a generous amount evenly through hair; leave on 2-4 minutes. Rinse. For extra conditioning or to soothe dry irritated scalp, do not rinse out.
