I bought this based on all the positive reviews and because finding a non-chemical sunscreen for a baby is very difficult. I used this product on my eight-month-old for an entire week vacation in the Caribbean. You do have to really work it in, but my baby liked the massaging so it wasn't a big deal. I didn't apply it at the beach, but before we got there, to make this process easier. If I needed to reapply, which was only a few times, I did it in the car where we also changed his diaper. After a few days of use I did notice some small bumps forming on his forearms, which has to have come from the lotion. They didn't seem to bother him, so I just made sure I washed his arms really well each night and once I stopped using the lotion (after vacation), they cleared right up. I also used the lotion on my face and had no trouble. So I do like the product, it did what it was supposed to--my son had absolutely zero sunburn that week. I think this is insanely expensive. I have seen it in stores since for a little less than what it's being sold for on Drugstore, and that bugs me. That is why I took away one star. I guess I'd buy it again, but only if I don't find something comparable and less expensive.

I bought this for my 3 year old daughter who I have used the California Baby shampoo and body lotion on since infancy with great results. I am so disappointed with this sunscreen!! Not only is it so thick that it is difficult to wash off it gave my daughter an awful rash where it was on her face and arms. She also got pink while in the sun for less than 30 minutes. She is very fair and she also looked iridescent from the thick sticky sheen. I was so disappointed I sent California Baby an email. I would never recommend this to anyone. I had better luck with other less expensive products like Aveeno baby sunscreen.

Comments about California Baby Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30+, No Fragrance, 2.9 oz:

This is the second time I bought this item. The first time is okay. But this time is a nightmare. There are water coming out of the product and the quality of the cream is so bad. It can not be used at all. I don't know why. Is drugstore selling the fake stuff?

Comments about California Baby Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30+, No Fragrance, 2.9 oz:

This is a great physical spf for my daughter who took swim classes this summer. She loves how it stays on where you put it, and you don't have to wait 15 min after you apply it. It doesn't come off in the pool, unless you are rubbing at it, but what stays on then? This has protected my daughter from sun burn and sun damage this summer. She loves it and I do too! I have bought a backup for her so she can use it whenever she goes into the sun!

Comments about California Baby Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30+, No Fragrance, 2.9 oz:

This was awful, I looked as if I were a geisha or a kabuki dancer. I could seriously scare some kids, and probably myself if I looked in the mirror. It was so thick and did not rub in at all, even after painful attempts of rubbing it in. I bought it because I thought it was organic and better for my skin, but if it's as bad as it is, I'd rather not even use sun screen.

Comments about California Baby Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30+, No Fragrance, 2.9 oz:

My skin is very sensitive and it's acne prone. Since it's a baby sunscreen I applied it right after washing my face. I can't say my skin broke out like crazy but it is definitely not non-comedogenic either. I guess I'll have to find a better product that won't cause breakout. Other than that, it is okay. Maybe best for skin that is not acne-prone.

Comments about California Baby Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30+, No Fragrance, 2.9 oz:

I bought this product before taking my two toddlers to Southern CA for 2 weeks, where I knew we'd be in daily sun. I like a lot of CA Baby products and bought this one on the reputation of the brand. However, I found it so hard to work with that I ended up using other sunscreen that my in-laws had on hand. This product was too thick and sticky to rub in effectively, especially into wiggly, eager little kids. I believe it would offer decent protection from the sun if if could be applied, but I found it very frustrating to work with and would recommend trying something else.

This is the only sunscreen lotion that doesn't irritate my kids' skin. It goes on thick, but it is very effective. I also use it for my sensitive skin, and I have a history of skin cancer.

I am an asian with fair skin tone, but I am allergic to sun. Several years ago, my allergy doctor recommended california baby to me. Since then, I've been loyal to their products, the same time I take some allergy medicines in the summer on and off which got me covered basically. I started to apply CA baby stuff to my baby, from diaper wash, cream, sun screen lotion, stick etc, basically from head to toe two years ago. They worked wonderful on my beloved son. However, after running out of my stocked stuff, I purchased newly reformulated, repackaged face cream/lotion and sun screen this month, my baby's face broke out and became swollen in couple of days. It was so horrible that i don't even know what to do. I am not sure what is going on with the new products and i don't even know what to replace them since I've been using them year by year.
