I apply a small amount on the palm of my hands and apply it throughout my hair, especially on the ends. I use it daily and use just enough to detangle my hair. I have NEVER had a problem with it's smell. Amazing how long my hair grew because this product prevents breakage. So many people think I wear a weave because my hair is thick and long. Nope, I just have a GREAT product!!

works wonders!!! will work on any hair type. My hair is long and in between straight to sort of wavy.

Pros: This product is an amazing conditioner. I have very curly, dry, frizzy, fine hair. A combination that is prone to a lot of breakage. I occasionally perm my hair, and I regularly use a semi-permanent hair dye. I always allow my hair to air dry. Despite my having a bathroom counter full of hair care products, a lot of my hair ended up in my comb when I styled my hair. After using Cantu Shea Butter Leave in Conditioning Repair Cream, the breakage of my hair lessened significantly, and there is little hair in the comb after I style my hair. The overall condition of my hair improved. I use this conditioner on my hair every night before I go to sleep, so that the conditioner can work on my hair overnight.

This product is a cream, so I think how much you should use depends upon your hair type (fine, thick, etc.), and style.

Cons: The intensity of the product's scent. The smell is strange, but not off-putting to me. I might describe the way it smells as being good, if the aroma wasn't so incredibly, overpoweringly strong. It's like being near someone who is wearing a nice smelling perfume, but that person is wearing way too much of it. When used on my hair, the scent is not as strong within about 15 minutes, to half an hour after I apply it.

For me, the amazingly positive change in my hair's condition outweighs dealing with the strong aroma of the conditioning cream.

Neutral: This product is good for my very dry hair, however it is a conditioner, not a moisturizer. I have to use a separate product to moisturize my hair, or else I have nicely conditioned hair that looks dry.

After YEARS of searching for that special, just right hair potion, I've discovered Cantu.I've used it all: gels, serums,lotions,hair dressings,other leave in conditioners,etc. None have done for my hair what this product does. I have thrown everything else away and this is all I use. This leave in conditioner hydrates my hair and leaves it soft and lightweight and very, very bouncy. I also use Cantu's shampoo and conditioner, that's it! I use this every night right before I roll my hair. I brush my hair out first, apply Cantu and then roll my hair. The next morning, I comb out my curls and voila! Shiny, happy, bouncy curls! I'll never be without this stuff!!

Living in a dry climate, I need something to add moisture to my hair. I've really abused my hair in the past with relaxers, hair color, heat...etc. Can't say I won't do any of that again, but def not as often I did in the past. About a month ago I decided to try to get my hair back to healthy, which hasn't been since I was a child and my mom did my hair everyday. I started by taking hair vitamins, not washing as much, and being more gently with everyday styling. I also decided to start using Cantu Shea Butter Leave in Conditioner. From 1st use, my hair was soft and managable. It has body, shine, and it smells awesome. (The one thing I had to have was something that didn't smell!) I use it daily, and wash my hair a couple times a week. I think that some people that complain of having build up might be applying more than they should. I know that the instructions say to 'apply a generous amount', but that's up to interpretation. I have hair that is just short of hitting my shoulders, and I probably apply about a teaspoon of this conditioner, and it seems to distribute well, and I've never had a buildup problem. Also, about once a week, I apply quite a bit more (saturate my hair with it), cover it up, and leave it on overnight. The next morning I wash it out, then apply the 1 tsp. It works wonders and I use nothing else on my hair except my normal shampoo. Nothing. As a side note...some people are complaining that it leaves a white residue, as I stated above it could be because they're using too much, or alot of people have mentioned that it 'gets white and clumpy' when mixed with other products. I would suggest that they try using it alone, and not so much. That might fix the issue.

Today was the first day I have used this product! I was dealing with very dry hair from perms. It seems the only way to get my hair back manageable was to put a another perm in.. BUT I REFUSED TO! so I went to my local drug store and looked around at the ethnic hair products and everything was SO EXPENSIVE . Until I seen Cantu, I opened to smell, I think it smells GREAT! I think the Shea Butter/Coconut Smell always smells good on Black folk! I also purchase the Shampoo. But anyways went home and washed my hair then applied the leave in conditioner combed and wrapped! It took it a while to dry, but I didnt have anything to do . In the past when I have put leave in conditioners in my hair and wrapped them combed out, my hair would look dusty or grayish.
