Capstar will give your pets temporary relief BUT it works on the living fleas - they're only 5% of the flea population (will not touch eggs or cocoons) and this product only stays active for less than a day. This means multiple doses need to be used while we attack the house and get other flea control working on the pets. A good monthly treatment along with vicious cycle of daily vacuuming / spraying / boraxing etc is the only effective control.

The worst part - it's priced up around the same as gold. I'm not poor, but this is too rich for my blood. Bought 2 6 packs so far, second pack I started cutting them in half - and it works about 1/2 as well. Not recommended.

This product is great. I rescue strays so I use it for cats that have a bad infestation and need help quickly. I also have had to use it on my own cats that I cannot put Revolution on. To administer Capstar I use Pill Pockets or crunch it up in some yummy canned food. Since it doesn't stay in the system and re-infestation could recur I immediately follow up with Revolution, Program, Advantage or Frontline, and continue administering Revolution, etc each month. I have found the other liquids like, Bio Spot etc do not work as effectively. Capstar used to only be available from my vet, so I am very happy to be able to get it here.

I use this in addition to monthly flea meds. it gets rid of the larger fleas.

I give our dog a capstar anytime he has fleas (usually twice a month). This product is excellent and really works. I use it in conjuction with the Program and together they really control the fleas. Would recommend this to anyone who has a dog with flea problems. And yes it really does start working in about 30 minutes!!

this years flea are really bad - Capstar was great at getting the fleas off my pets - just wish it would last more than a day

I read all the comments on Capstar and really didn't believe it would start working in 30 minutes killing fleas. It does! I was pleasantly surprised that after I gave our 8 week old kittens 1/2 pill each that fleas started dying and falling off of them! I did not see any side effects at all.

I used this when none of the spot on fur systems would work. I followed with Program tablet so no baby fleas could hatch from eggs. I have a mid aged cat and a 14 year old dog, works great on both.

We have a year around flea problem, the ground does not freeze.

This was recommended by vet office when I had extreme flea infestation (I'm not used to dealing with fleas as I've never had them until moved to OK!) - used capstar with 2 cats and tiny dog - worked as it says - fleas fell off dead. Then I followed with frontline as was advised. Too expensive to use daily but works GREAT when need to get rid of fleas already on pets and as "booster".

There were dead and dying fleas falling off my cats shortly after they took the Capstar tablets. Amazing product!
