Many other aids for people that have a hard time sitting down on and getting up from the toilet are designed for older style toilets. They also tend to be complete replacements and give the bathroom an institutional look. This product allows you to use your existing toilet seat as it was designed to function while raising it 3 inches to make it easier to use (sit down and get up).
NO Special equipment required. I call the product a 'spacer' and it is predrilled. Just unscrew the existing seat, place this 3 inch 'spacer' on the toilet, position your toilet seat on top, and attach using the provided, extra long threaded mounting bolts. This bolt and wing-nut hardware is metal. You can use your existing plastic 'nut' as a spacer to prevent scratching the porcelain. That's it.
Time to install: less than 10 minutes.
Tools needed: 1 flat head screwdriver, silicon spray(optional)
When you no longer need the extra 3 inches of height, it will de-install in the same manner as if you were merely replacing a toilet seat.

after having two knee replacements, getting off the toilet was very akward. now the angle on the knees has been reduced and there is no strain whatsoever. installation is extremely easy.

I use this product to elevate the toilet seat following my wife's hip replacement surgery. It is the only product that can fit our toilet with a bidet seat. It is very easy to install and it is sturdy. However, depending on the height of the person, this may not be heigh enough for everyone. Also since I have a bidet seat, the bolts that come with the product does not fit. I went to a local hardware store and found a different set of bolts that fit. The other word of caution is to carefully determine whether you should buy the round or oval one, depending on the size and shape of the toilet.

This is an easy fix to raising the height of your comode. It is a little hard to keep clean but seems to hold up under excess weight.
