We originally got this on recommendation from our daughter's Naturopathic Doctor for her autism. The kids actually like the flavor (no kidding)! My 8yo can read but doesn't realize she is taking fish oil since the label reads "Cod Liver Oil", LOL! It is oily, of course so the texture is a bit off, but I must admit the flavor is acceptable. It does not taste or smell fishy. And we do not burp it up later like we did with pills. I don't recommend mixing this with anything since it is very oily. It is great for kids that cannot swallow pills yet. It is the best fish oil we have tried so far (this makes #3).

Trying to do good for our bodies, we ordered this fish oil. But we would have been better to start with capsules. From the reviews, this product is probably great for non-first timers. I think I could have gotten used to it, but my husband and kids could not get over the "blech" factor of swallowing oil. And I did find myself tasting the odd lemony aftertaste for several hours after taking it. There was something disconcerting about it -- ALMOST pleasant aftertaste but actually NOT pleasant.

Comments about Carlson The Very Finest Fish Oil Omega-3's DHA & EPA, Lemon, 16.9 fl oz:

I purchased this because my "good" cholesterol level was too low and I'm hoping to improve that. I've only been using it for a few weeks and have not tested my cholesterol since.

The taste isn't bad but it's definitely oil. The first few times I took it, I felt like I was taking a dose of Pledge. I've gotten used to it and it's not as bad anymore.

I did notice a positive side effect. I am a runner and my knees usually hurt for about the first mile of my run. For about the past week, they haven't really been hurting much at all! That's a huge plus for me.

Comments about Carlson The Very Finest Fish Oil Omega-3's DHA & EPA, Lemon, 16.9 fl oz:

I have been/will be taking 1 tablespoon daily for 6 weeks as part of a nutritional program/recommmendation. I was VERY resistant at first to the idea of ingesting straight fish oil (ewww!), but Carlson's is amazingly easy to ingest... all I can taste is lemon! I've read of some people stirring it into a glass of water and drinking it (I have no tried that way).

There are no "not so greats" that I am aware of; Carlson's has NO fishy aftertaste, actually... I've not noticed ANY aftertaste at all.

Being a newcomer to fish oil, I was very concerned about using the liquid form of it. But, based on the reviews I decided to try it knowing the very healthful benefits. Well, it's not bad at all (taste wise)! My only problem is rememberinbg to take it since it's stored in the refrigerator.
