This lip balm tastes pretty bad. Every time I put it on even a little, I would have a crayon taste in my mouth. This thing has camphor which may sooth skin temporarily, but constant use would actually make it an irritant. Also, why is there Salicylic acid in this? That ingredient would make your lips worse by making it peel even more when it's already chapped and it did happen to me. That sucks! Carmex should rethink the ingredients here, perhaps put a sunscreen. Anyway, it smells good and it's cheap compared to others, so I give it 2 stars. Comments about Carmex Cold Sore Reliever and Lip Moisturizer, Jar, .5 oz: I'll admit it, I'm a product snob. I tend to gravitate toward higher-priced items, so the fact that good old Carmex worked better than most other balms has been a surprise. It lasts as well or better than others I've tried, including Burt's Bees; while it has a similar menthol smell and taste, I don't find it to be quite as overwhelming as Burt's. I do not like the Carmex in the tube, with its runny consistency and greasy feel. This formula is nearly matte and works quite well. Pros

Comments about Carmex Cold Sore Reliever and Lip Moisturizer, Jar, .5 oz: This staple can't be beat for making my lips feel soft and comfortable. Most balms feel waxy and not moisturizing enough and i have tried dozens of them. This is part of my daily ritual. Only con is that there is no SPF in it so I primarily use it at home/bedtime. Pros

Comments about Carmex Cold Sore Reliever and Lip Moisturizer, Jar, .5 oz: Before Carmex became available nationally, I used to bring some back with me whenever I visited my family in Wisconsin. It is very soothing and protective (no sunscreen in it though) -- I use it before I go to bed to moisturize and protect my lips as a kind of overnight treatment. I happen to like the slightly medicinal smell (camphor, I think) -- I feel like it's soothing and even slightly opens up my breathing! Pros

Comments about Carmex Cold Sore Reliever and Lip Moisturizer, Jar, .5 oz: I love this product! It is no frills, no fuss, but high functionality- totally different from all of my other lip glosses. I only use it at home in my bathroom, but apply it in the morning when I get up, after my morning run, on my eyebrows after washing my face (just the teeniest smudge to tame them) and then at night. It moisturizes incredibly well. I wouldn't carry it with me anywhere because it doesnt fit well into a pocket with its bulky shape and I usually crave something a little more glamarous during the day. Love it otherwise. Pros

Comments about Carmex Cold Sore Reliever and Lip Moisturizer, Jar, .5 oz: This is the best product I have ever used to chapped lips. You do not have to constantly apply this product like some other chap sticks. If you put a thick layer on before bed, the dead skin will wash off in the shower with a washcloth. Pros

Comments about Carmex Cold Sore Reliever and Lip Moisturizer, Jar, .5 oz: I read that this salve when used under the eyes, brightens them up, helps eliminate bags and dark circles. Being a red head with fair skin, after a rough night at work, I tried it. It worked great! it helps hide the signs of the lines around your eyes, brightens under your eyes right up. Yes, I used it on my lips to make them soft, not just a preventative. Honestly, I bought it for under my eyes to bright them up and this stuff just makes me glow! I put it on after lotions and base. It can feel a tad greasy there after a while, but it's worth it. Yes, my lips are supple and nice but my eyes are always glowing! Pros

Comments about Carmex Cold Sore Reliever and Lip Moisturizer, Jar, .5 oz: Love Love Love it! For some reason, I always get fever blisters, which looks like a small pimple, and its always on my upper lip. It is so embrassing! But then my aunt gave me this miricle and it clears the blister in almost a day! Its the best, and now I have nice smooth lips! Pros

Comments about Carmex Cold Sore Reliever and Lip Moisturizer, Jar, .5 oz: I absolutely love this product. I used to buy Burts Bees but didn't like the "waxy" feel of it. I have also tried Chapstick but I didn't like the feel of it. I was worried that Carmex would be sticky or not feel soothing when I put it on but I was so wrong. By far my most favorite lip balm I have tried. I will continue to buy this product. Keeps my lips soft and protected. A must have!! Pros

Comments about Carmex Cold Sore Reliever and Lip Moisturizer, Jar, .5 oz: I've been using carmex for about ten years now and it is truly the best product I've gotten my hands on. I've used many other lip balms but none of them heal my lips like carmex. Every night before I go to bed I put some on and the next morning my lips are healthy and smooth.
