This thing has camphor which may sooth skin temporarily, but constant use would actually make it an irritant. Also, why is there Salicylic acid in this? That ingredient would make your lips worse by making it peel even more when it's already chapped and it did happen to me. That sucks! Carmex should rethink the ingredients here, perhaps put a sunscreen. Anyway, it smells good and it's cheap compared to others, so I give it 2 stars. The best thing about Carmex is it lasts a long time, and is cheap and is the only thing that heals & prevents chap lips. I dont use it for sores or anything so I dont know how effective it is with that. I just use it as a lip balm. Pros

It softens, soothes and aids in healing chapped lips and dryness. Perfect for those in need of moisture and it literally tingles when you put it on. My lips have a tendency to get really dry and peel very badly but, when I use Carmex I don't have that problem. My lips are smooth and moisturized.
