I first started using Carnation Instant Breakfast after having mouth surgery and I couldn't eat solid food. I highly recommend this for anyone who will be getting dental work done and might not be able to eat balanced meals for a few days. Everything in his diet had to be pureed & he stopped eating thier prepared 'tv tray' because frankly... it looked like dog food (ever try to choke down a pureed pizza or hot dog? -yuck) I know the hospital was jus trying thier best to be creative & add variety to his meals, but he just couldn't stomach it. The nurses started bringing him ready-made carnation in a can to fufill his nutritional needs, but it really did taste like metal. This is when I started bringing the carnation powder to add to the plastic milk jug they brought in the mornings. Just scoop the powder into the jug & shake. Voila- no metal taste at all. A friend suggested I try it again and I was very impressed. I got the "no added sugar" in the Milk Choolate Flavor and found it to be excellent in the taste and mixing departments. It was very smooth, not gritty, and filled me up. I am not a hearty breakfast eater, but need more than just a glass of milk to hold me over until lunch, and I've found my solution.
