I set them on the first day and then comb through the second day and it looks great. I have fine hair that has some natural wave. It doesn't hold a style in humidity with any other product. For those who have had problems or want to prevent problems: as another reviewer said, your hair has to be bone dry before you set it. Not even a little dampness remaining. I wash and dry at night, or wash and air dry all day and use the Caruso Molecular rollers in the early evening before going out. Also, once the rollers are in, they have to be totally dry to be set. If you're in a rush, hit them with your blowdryer. I aim the dryer from the top over the shields and then gently lift each roller and give them a shot of air from the bottom. Then, let them cool a few moments and take the rollers out.As for the shields leaving marks, that's a barrier that you can finesse with the right rolling technique or by clips. You roll the shield back from the root of the hair and then secure the roller with a little metal clip through one of the open holes on the end of the roller. Or use the Conair plastic roller clips [...] VS Most Liked Negative Review Waste of money The main problem is that my hair just didn't curl. The different sized rollers were so close in size that it was hard to choose the right size clamp for each. The clamps did not hold the curls firmly. The curlers have to be heated one at a time. There is no storage arrangement for the curlers. Really this system is a mess. Best Uses Comments about Caruso SalonPro Molecular Steam Hairsetter, 30 Rollers/5 Sizes, 1 ea: I had an old set of steam curlers that needed to be replaced. I sure wish I had hung on to them. I read the reviews for the Caruso curlers and since I consider myself pretty adept with curlers, I thought I'd give them a try. What a mistake. You can't tell which clip goes with each size curler so I am constantly fumbling with the curlers and clips. I am constantly burning my fingers trying to lift the curler from the holder. Same goes for the clips. The only good thing I can say is that if I can get the curlers into my hair, the curl holds well all day but it is not worth the trade-off. Save your money. Comments about Caruso SalonPro Molecular Steam Hairsetter, 30 Rollers/5 Sizes, 1 ea: I love a good hairsetter and when my 15 year old set of steam curlers finally died I went searching for a good replacement. This hairsetter will gives excellent curl that will hold for hours. The problem is that all of the curlers are red and it is difficult to figure out which are small and which are medium. I spend quite a bit of time struggling to put a curler in my hair until I finally figure out which clip to use. The great curl is a trade-off for the frustration of getting the right clip with the right curler. Other manufacturers have different colored clips and curlers so you easily know which size is which. I hope they change this feature. Otherwise, this is a great product. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (1 of 1 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Comments about Caruso SalonPro Molecular Steam Hairsetter, 30 Rollers/5 Sizes, 1 ea: Works Fast and easy to roll hair . The greatest part is you can buy as many curlers as you need to roll your entire head at the same time.. You do not have to wait for rollers to heat , 18 at a time. The steam from the Caruso unit starts in seconds and your good to go. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (1 of 1 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Comments about Caruso SalonPro Molecular Steam Hairsetter, 30 Rollers/5 Sizes, 1 ea: I can't believe I ever stopped using this steam curler. I bought my first set in '92 & it's the same great product. So easy, so fast & so much better for my hair too. I have coarse Asian hair & the curls stay withOUT hairspray. Just love it! Comments about Caruso SalonPro Molecular Steam Hairsetter, 30 Rollers/5 Sizes, 1 ea: I am not good at Styling hair. I got a short haircut 6 months ago so it would be quicker to get ready. I have been using a curling iron and it takes forever and it never looks the same way twice. I just bought these Caruso curlers and used them today for the first time. They are wonderful. I can`t roll my hair, but with these I can. I am so glad I bought them because it was so simple and quick. Comments about Caruso SalonPro Molecular Steam Hairsetter, 30 Rollers/5 Sizes, 1 ea: Have been using for many years; love this product. Do not need the large rollers; wish I could specify size needed. Price of extra rollers needed is a little pricey for set of 6. Best Uses Comments about Caruso SalonPro Molecular Steam Hairsetter, 30 Rollers/5 Sizes, 1 ea: The sponges were difficult to roll fine hair around. I have used hot rollers and regular rollers for many years and thought I could cut some time with the steam process, but in order to get the hair to stay on the rollers I had to roll them tight and then had kinks in the hair ends. The clips do not hold fine hair tight to the scalp so my hair was flat on top. I wish I could retun this product but the policy is that if it was used they won't return. Best Uses Comments about Caruso SalonPro Molecular Steam Hairsetter, 30 Rollers/5 Sizes, 1 ea: The first setter that I bought I loved because it was gentle on my hair and it always looked shiney and healthy. It quit working, in less than a year. The motor just never came on when it was plugged in. I bought a second one thinking that this was just a bad one and I would have better luck with the next one. Not so, the second one comes on when plugged in just doesn't make steam anymore. Also less than a year old. Good concept BAD product. Cons Best Uses Comments about Caruso SalonPro Molecular Steam Hairsetter, 30 Rollers/5 Sizes, 1 ea: My hair has changed drastically since going through menopause. Had curly hair now straight and won't hold a curl with regular hot rollers or a curling iron. Used these rollers on a Thursday morning and the curl was almost exactly the same the next morning. Love them. So easy to use. I did take my hair dryer and blasted the rollers for about 3 mins. then left them in for about 1/2 hr. My hair is soft and I don't need any hair spray or products. Curls hold beautifully. Would highly recommend. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (1 of 1 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Cons
Best Uses Comments about Caruso SalonPro Molecular Steam Hairsetter, 30 Rollers/5 Sizes, 1 ea: My BFF used to have the original Caruso that used salt back in high school and I remember how great her hair turned out, so I decided to order this version. I have very straight, fine, asian hair and this unfortunately did not work for me. I was delighted with the results at first (I used the jumbo rollers for the center and large for the sides.), but after 30 minutes my hair straightened out. There was a tiny bit of "wave" left, but nothing like I wanted it to be. I followed the directions for fine hair and left the rollers on the steamer for 5-7 seconds and steamed the cover for 2-3 seconds. I then left them in my hair for an hour to make sure my hair dried before taking them out. I'm sure my results are not the norm because curling irons don't curl my hair either without dousing them in hairspray first. It's too bad because this hairsetter is extremely easy to use and it only took about 20 minutes to roll my entire head. *sigh* (Be sure to use distilled water. I think that's probably the cause of why so many others systems are breaking quickly. I had a hand steamer that died on me after a couple of months because I used our yucky tap water.)
