It has a good balance of necessary vitamins and minerals for those of us who need a supplement (all of us) and especially for those of us who don't always eat a proper diet. There is a variety of generics out there, and they always compare themselves to Centrum. But I take only the Centrum because I trust it, stay quite healthy on it (even during cold and flu season), and find the name brand much easier to swallow.
