It hasn't dried my skin out right after using it, which is what I was afraid it might do, and I'm not sure if it removes makeup or not because I always just use toner after washing my face anyway, but I usually use Mario Badescu products & I really couldn't afford to wait for the cleanser I usually use from them (which is amazing), so I up & bought this, plus it's a lot cheaper [...]but if you get it at [...], it's sooo much cheaper there than the price it shows on here. It does have an odd smell to it, though.. kinda like the handsoap they use at my hospital but it's nothing unbearable, although I have to say that I hate the pump so very much because I can't seem to get it to stay in the middle of the bottle and still pump, so it's always going to one side or the other. Those are my only 2 complaints.. but if something goes awry with it, I will be back on here saying so. VS Most Liked Negative Review I really loved this face ... I began using it a few years ago, at the age of 50. I've had oily skin and moderate acne breakouts since I was 12 years old. Believe me, I've tried EVERYTHING! Within two weeks my face was totally acne free for the first time since I was a kid, and it's stayed clear! If they ever stop making this stuff I'll hit all the stores and hoard every bottle I can find. NOTE: I once switched to Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, which I thought would be similar, but the breakouts came back! Everybody's different, but that's my story. Other products say they are made for sensitive skin, but Cetaphil really is the gentlest out there. I am now going to try the skin cream because the other products dried it out. It also left my skin with a burning sensation. Everyone's skin is different, and what doesn't work for me works very well for others. No. This product is for oily skin; therefore those who do not have oily skin will feel taught and dry. My face was breaking out and peeling from using an Aveda cleanser with Salicylic Acid that was over-priced and over-hyped. This cleanser has calmed and cleared my sensitive-acne skin. I have very sensitive skin, and have been looking for a gentle but thorough cleanser. This irritated my face, and I also broke out from it. The smell is very strong for a supposed mild item, and it also stung my face. It did rinse cleanly, though. I prefer an all-in-one cleanser that removes makeup too, but this was not good at all on even light eye makeup. I felt I had tried almost every other product out there to help clear up my sensitive, acne prone skin so I decided to try it. I am so glad I did! It has done great things for my skin! It cleared up my acne, doesn't irritate my skin, and it keeps it smooth. It doesn't work in the traditional way that soap does and it almost put me off but I kept using it and was so glad I did. I really enjoy the original Cetaphil liquid facial cleanser, and was eager to try out this new brand when it came out on the market. However, it left my face dry and taut feeling in an uncomfortable way, and has a medicinal smell that is disgusting. Though I have the skin type this product was produced for, I much prefer the other type of Cetaphil, because it doesn't make me hate my face. I haven't had a breakout since using it about a year ago. The only problems one may find is that this cleanser doesn't foam, and the smell is more medical than pretty. But I have been using it now for several months (one bottle lasts FOREVER), and my skin has never looked better. It gently cleanses my oily breakout-prone face leaving it soft and supple. I have had no problems with dryness, tightness or itching. My fine lines also appear to be less noticeable. I highly recommend this cleanser to those who have oily and sensitive skin.
