I have went back and forth on this product in the past and I never understood why. I used to think that the whole reason my face would break out was because I was not using the right cleanser, right toner, moisturizer and acne topical cream but after years of experimenting and puting my face through drying benzoyl peroxide and powerful salicylic acid I found out what everyone should know. All of these prducts where making actually harming my skin and making it worst. Our skin is not meant to be put through all these chemical so I set out on finding the right products to clear my skin and repair it.
After I threw out all my bp products and non oil free lotions and cleansers I went through my drawers and found this again. I wanted to use the gentlest products and I believe this is the best for my oily acne-prone skin type.
The only products I use now are this cetaphil cleanser, an oil-free moisturizer that contains no acne medication and every once and a blue moon tea tree oil for spot treatment (but I think I can easily stop using this, it's unnecessary now).
Other than that the only other thing I do is TRY to drink 8 glasses of water (which I did on the first week of this new cleansing and honestly I believe it one of the most important things). I now know water makes a different on your body so at least drink 6 glasses and you will see skin clearing results in a couple of days. TRUST ME it does make a huge difference.
So now my face is clear 95% i have one small pimple on my face because I stopped drinking water for 2 days and ate some greasy chinese food but it is going away alot quickly than it used to before.
The water makes my face brighter and my skin also less red from post acne marks, amazing right. And whatever scars I did have they are disappearing.
I know this sounds scary to leave all your acne products behind but your skin will thank you for it. The minimal, gentler and more natural you can go the better.
Hope this helps. I am only 21 and I feel like saved myself from alot of acne and spending. My skin has never been this clear and I dont have to walk through the acne aisles in the stores anymore, i found this a little embarrassing. Hope this helps you guys

I'm devoted to Cetaphil GENTLE cleanser, but accidentally got this and you know what? It's amazing!

I've had stubborn acne (whiteheads) on the side of my forehead for about a couple of months now and NO amount of washing, Differin gel, and DuAC was helping, but this did. I washed my face with it at night and applied my usual acne medication over it, and the next day the pimples had drastically diminished in size!!

My face does feel a little tight after I towel off, but I quickly apply a thick layer of lotion (I use Ceravae) to solve the problem. I also use my Cetaphil GENTLE cleanser every few days, so I don't dry out my skin especially since I'm located in the northeast where the winters are absolutely brutal.

The smell is strong and I was a bit taken aback by it. It's a floral, pretty smell--almost like a perfume. It's not bad, but I can see how it may be a turn off to some people especially men.

Comments about Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser, Normal to Oily Skin, 16 fl oz:

I've been using Cetaphil for the past year and couldn't be happier about how my skin looks and feels like now..

I switched between cleansers but at the end of the day, I always came back to Cetaphil. It's the only cleanser that's gentle enough for my skin.. (Fyi, my skin is pretty normal, it gets a little dry in Winter and can get a little oily in hot weather. I breakout occasionally, maybe just one or two pimples once a month. So my skin isn't really problematic but it has its own problem)

I agree that it doesn't remove makeup, but it's not a big deal for me because I don't wear makeup on a daily basis and when I do wear makeup, I always remove it with Cleansing Wipes first before I wash my face.

I'd totally recommend this to everyone! My skin has improved big time, and I have to give Cetaphil credit for that. LOVE IT! <3

Comments about Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser, Normal to Oily Skin, 16 fl oz:

For both myself and my teenage sons, this is a face-saver. I've tried so many brands for breakouts and found that this bottle of affordable face soap is the best. Used everyday, I rarely break out. I had bad breakouts for years, into adult hood. Now my kids are lucky I can save them now from 15 years of trial and error and they can enjoy their teens with clear skin. Occasionally I do an enzyme peel and an apricot scrub to help brighten as I am getting older, but I do still breakout if I skip this step.

Makes my skin feel soft but couldn't remove my makeup. On non-makeup-wearing-days, couldn't penetrate into pores. I had to cleanse with a deeper penetrating cleanser. So this stuff isn't really a cleanser, I'd just call it a skin softener gel.

Purchased this cleanser after reading good reviews. After using it daily for 3 weeks, my skin becomes smoother and shinny-er. No bad smell and the skin feel clean after wash. Best of all is the price is good for daily use.

Comments about Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser, Normal to Oily Skin, 16 fl oz:

This seemed to be working great for me, but a week into using it my skin began peeling as if I had sunburn, and since I was in Florida at the time, I thought maybe it was, so I put on extra sunscreen and usually it goes away in a week. I continued using the product and all my acne disappeared but my skin was peeling even worse, and even worse it hurt. It was probably one of the most painful products I have used. My skin had no acne, but it hurt and there was obvious peeling all over. Maybe if you have more oily skin it would work, but I had never described my skin as dry, until after using this product.

This is so highly fragranced it makes my skin itch and my eyes burn - and I didn't get it in my eyes or use it on my actual eye area. I tried to salvage it by using as a body wash and a hand wash, but it still makes my skin itchy.

I actually bought this by mistake- I meant to purchase the original gentle skin cleanser for sensitive skin, not the one for oily skin.
I was expecting the milky non-foaming cleanser. This one is different, it is a clear liquid that does foam and of course has different ingredients.
I prefer the original but I have sensitive skin and this made my face burn a bit, so I gave it away.
Be aware if you have sensitive skin, you want the other cetaphil cleanser.
