I have tried over 100 sunscreens in an attempt to find one that I can slap on in the morning and forget about 'til I wash it off. My sensitive, acne- and clog-prone skin would not allow me to do this; it was either a sunscreen would break me out, clog me up, or cause reactions that sometimes needed medical intervention. Not so with this! It goes on light as a feather, sinks in quickly, and hasn't caused any breakouts or reactions. The finish is a lovely satin matte, so my skin looks totally natural, not shiny and not dry. If you are expecting ANY product to hold back oil all day, you are setting yourself up for disappointment, but this sunscreen did keep me shine-free for about 5 hours with just a dusting of powder over it. Because it is not water-resistant, I would not recommend this for swimming/beach sunscreen, but for everyday wear, it is a winner! As with any chemical sunscreen, it is going to have a certain smell, but it fades immediately on me (if yours is lingering, contact the company, as it is probably a bad bottle). Works great under makeup (though be careful to check any SPF ingredients in your makeup; if it contains octinoxate, skip it while using this sunscreen, as it will deactivate the avobenzone) too. The price is a steal for a four ounce bottle! So glad to have found this!

I'm rather disappointed given, after using the same brand of oil control wash, I assumed this would also provide oil control WHILE ALSO protecting me from the sun's rays. So far the sunscreen aspect seems fine - though it's just a bunch of chemical blockers instead of physical ones like zinc or titaniam oxide. Which you could pay half as much for nearly twice the amount of ounces you get in this. I specifically got it for the oil control/acne prone skin. I've battled acne prone, sensitive, photosensitive, oily skin for over 20 years now. I'm beyond sick and tired of the lip service and promises companies make, using the same ingredients other products use and slap a heavier price tag on it because it's meant for acne prone people like me. Which, if it worked, would be fine, but it doesn't. Everything I use is oil free, oil control, etc. I decided to incorporate this in some vain hope it would tackle my oiliness. Nope. Zit (I mean zip). Within an hour of application I'm just as oily as if I'd not put anything on at all or put on a regular sunscreen. If you want an overpriced sunscreen made with chemical blockers be my guest. I could have seen passed it had it done something about the oil. It didn't. Don't market it as an oil control when it doesn't. The oil control wash they make seems to work great. The follow up lotion (which is more expensive) leaves much to be desired.

Comments about Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30, 4 fl oz:

I am always looking for an SPF that doesn't turn my already oily skin into a total oil slick. This isn't any better than any other moisturizer with SPF. "Oil Control" is a total misnomer. Other than that, it's fine.

This moisturizer not only did not control the oil, it added a sticky film to my skin that made it look greasy all day. I was surprised because I absolutely love the oil control cleanser by Cetaphil. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone with acne prone, oily skin. It did not work for me.

This product was recommended for my husband by our Dermatologist. He is very picky about products and has sensitive skin. He is amazed at the difference this product has made in his skin. I highly recommend this product.

I actually really like this product. I only use Cetaphil brand cleansers and lotions on my face because I have such sensitive, oily, acne prone skin. I started using this lotion and it really helps to control to excess amount of shine during the day. I even experiment and try not using it and comparing results and I have to say that it actually does significantly help.

Comments about Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30, 4 fl oz:

I bought this lotion at a local store and plan to return it as soon as I am able. I cannot leave the house because of the horrible reaction my skin had to this product. I applied it for two days, taking care not to get it in my eyes. On the morning after my first application, my skin felt a bit itchy around the eye area when I ran my face under the warm shower, and I noticed a few bumps on the skin around my eyes. I decided to use it again that morning, because I wasn't even sure I was having a reaction, or if it had simply clogged a few pores around my eyes.
During the second day of use, my eye area became more itchy and developed more bumps. I washed my face that night and took an antihistamine tablet to help with what I then knew was a reaction to this lotion.
This morning, I have awoken to a swollen, itchy, bumpy eye area with a more mild reaction on the rest of my face. I have a "mask" of red, irritated, swollen skin all around my eye area, upper cheeks and temples. On one side, my eye area is so swollen, that it is making that eye look smaller and not open fully. I have never had a reaction so severe from anything else. I will now have to take more antihistamine medicine and apply hydrocortisone cream to the area just to make sure it heals and does not get worse!
How can a company known for gentle skin products produce such a horrible lotion!? I have no known allergies, but obviously something in this did not agree with me at all. I plan on calling the company's hotline about this just to let them know.
My warning would be to skip this and try another one. I wouldn't take the chance!

Comments about Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30, 4 fl oz:

This stuff is very good, BUT it has a con which for some may be a big one: it does not moisturize all that well. It does contain ceramides, but still it doesn't really moisturize very well in my opinion. This product is marketed as an oil-control moisturizer that is able to control shine, control oil, provide sun protection, and moisturize your skin all at the same time. It does all of that except the moisturizing bit, most likely due to the fact that it contains several ingredients that are meant to mattify your face in order to control shiny, oily skin. This doesn't really bother me though, because I just apply a light layer of moisturizer (cerave moisturizing lotion) before applying this, let that dry, then apply this and viola it immediately mattifies me, and keeps my skin looking normal all day. Yes, ALL DAY. I have oily acne prone skin that tends to get more and more shiny as the day progresses, well not anymore thanks to this. LOVE that it has spf 30 too. Also, no WHITE CAST!

Comments about Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30, 4 fl oz:

I was excited when I found this product because I have had extremely good luck with Cetaphil products in general. I have a fair complexion, sensitive skin, combination skin and so I'm always battling irritation and some acne. Part of what excited me about this moisturizer was that it advertised oil control AND sunscreen. This seemed like a perfect combination to me. I like the idea of being able to put one product on my face, and knowing that its made by Cetaphil made me feel like I could trust it to not contain horrible ingredients that would cause my skin to freak out.

I've been using it for two weeks now and its wonderful! I use it on my face every morning, and I use it under makeup. It goes on smooth and absorbs quickly. There's a hint of sunscreen smell when I apply it but it fades away fast. My makeup (I use mineral makeup) goes on more smoothly when I use this product. It does help to control oil while moisturizing and it hasn't caused me any break outs or irritation.

Its winter time now and I live in the midwest so I don't know yet how well the sunscreen aspect of this will work, but I'm hopeful because everything else about this product has been great.

I haven't used ANY moisturizer in the past 8 years because I'm so scared that I'll break out even worse than what I have. I have oily, moderate acne prone skin and its had its fair share of ups and downs when it comes to products. After recently trying Clinique's acne system, I broke out with the worst cystic acne on my forehead and cheeks. So I went to the derm, and she recommended I use this along with the Oil Control foam wash, Duac and Tazorac (prescription treatments). My skin is healthier, acne free and the oil is under control. I have tried a lot of stuff for acne and oil control, but does BOTH and works the best!!
