I had hesitated buying this product because I am one of those that has tried everything for acne. Over the last couple of months I have been breaking out worse than ever before due to stress. I decided I wouldn't lose anything trying this product - I also hesitated because it says it's for dry skin - it actually works VERY well on my oily skin and dried out pimples! I used this soap to wash my face lastnight and this morning the cystic pimple i had went down significantly! I believe it cut down the excess oil production on my face - normally I would wake up like a just got out of a sauna! Of course, everyone is different and may not see the same results but that is my experience - i will continue to use it and hope it will continue to satisfy me - and a tip to those who have acne - drink lots of water with lemon! it draws all toxins out of your body - i have been doing this for only 2 days and have noticed a major difference!

I must first disclose, I was using this soap as a back/body soap.

I used this product for a while and was quite happy with it. I stopped using it because I thought it was overly expensive and didn't last very long. I've switched to a few different things that didn't control my acne. On another quest to find something that would work, I found Safeguard. It's actually more effective than this soap and you get 8 bars for the price of 2 of these. It's surprisingly mild, unlike most bar soaps (Cetaphil excluded-Cetaphil is the mildest).

As a soap for face, I'm sure this this product is worth the price; however, I prefer gels.

I am a repeat buyer; how great to get the antibacterial properties without the drying impact or medicinal smell. I love how gentle and effective this is, just like the facial cleanser. Bar is smooth and the size is good for a woman's hand.

Comments about Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Bar, Antibacterial, 4.5 oz:

This is just as good as the non-antibacterial Cetaphil. The biggest difference is that it is highly perfumed. Not just a mild, "clean" scent, but downright floral and nearly as strong as any cologne. As someone who gets migraines from strong perfumes, this did not help me. I will stick with the regular Cetaphil from now on.

I have combination skin, dry and itchy in places, yet prone to breakouts and occasionally infections and cysts. I need an antibacterial soap that is kind to my skin or I will itch and flake like a snake. Cetaphil may cost a bit more but it is exactly what I need.

Comments about Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Bar, Antibacterial, 4.5 oz:

My skin is very sensitive so some of the deodorant soaps that are out on the market leave my skin very dry and often times with a rash. In the summer, however, I need a little stronger soap and this soap is perfect. Gentle enough without drying out my skin but also strong enough to keep my skin feeling really clean and preventing break-outs. I also love the smell of this soap. It is so good that this is the only soap I use for my entire body and I now use it all year long.

Comments about Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Bar, Antibacterial, 4.5 oz:

My favorite cleanser ever. I've been using Retin-A for a long time to treat cystic acne, which makes my skin super sensitive. The reg Cetaphil cleanser was recommended to me by my derm, but even that was burning my face, so I gave this bar soap a try and I've been using it since. I've tried other cleansers now and then, but always come back to this soap. For me, this affordable drugstore brand soap beats all the "luxury" cleansers hands down!

Comments about Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Bar, Antibacterial, 4.5 oz:

Considering that fragrance is the number one most common skin irritant, I'm less than impressed that Cetaphil packed this bar with it. I usually use Basis but couldn't find any on a trip, so tried Cetaphil instead. Wow was my skin irritated -- it took a few days of TLC to calm it down. Needless to say, the Cetaphil bar went straight into the trash.
